Portta HDMI Converter Up-scaler AV to HDMI Composite Mini Converter Support HDMI 1080P or 720P Output Plastic Case for PS3 PS4 Blu-ray DVD XBOX Notebook etc

This is a brilliant piece of tech, that actually works. I had bought one of the Mini AV2HDMI units (the little white ones) from another online retailer, only it partially worked, the video went through, but there was no sound. I bought this one, after I got no joy from the seller of the other one over a replacement/refund. This one, which was only a few £s more than the other one, works perfectly. I get a great video and audio signal through HDMI from both my Nintendo N64 and GameCube, which was what I needed it for. This one is worth the money and the little bit extra compared to the Mini AV2HDMI units.

Hi everyone this is my review of the PORTTA AV composite video (yellow,red,white cable) converter/upscaler to HDMI 720p and 1080p resolutions.Firstly I must state that for years now I have continued to play my old Dreamcast and N64 games quite happily through a composite cable connected to a 42" panasonic TV and I guess just excepted the fact that these old games are never going to look great on a modern TV, fact is I'd never even heard of a composite to HD box. I came across them while casually browsing the Amazon web site and after reading all the reviews on different manufacturers models and prices decided to purchase the PORTTA mini AV composite to Hdmi for only £25. I must confess when it did arrive I looked at it with a sense of real disappointment. Firstly it comes packaged in a cheap plain cardboard box with No writing on it whatsoever.Secondly the Portta Unit itself is tiny measuring only 60mm x 50mm and 20mm thick, and Thirdly it only comes with a really cheap 2ft USB power cable (No mains adapter and No Hdmi cable) so if your tv doesn't have a USB connection your pretty much stuffed from the word Go. Anyway with a sigh of trepidation I connected the USB power cable to my HD tv and the other end to the Portta black box (I binned the USB cable that came with the unit and used my PS3 USB instead), I then connected the Hdmi cable (fortunately I had a spare) and finally connected the composite video cable running from my Dreamcast console. I then inserted one of my all time favourite dreamcast games SHADOWMAN by Aclaim and after turning the console on sat back and waited patiently to see if I'd just been ripped off for £25 quid. It was at this point I just sat there absolutely speechless, in all my years playing my old and cherished Retro games Never have I seen Shadowman look so Utterly Amazing, and in fact over the next 2 hours as I slowly went through each of my dreamcast games I was just totally stunned at just how Great they looked running at full 720p resolution. I then connected the Porrta black box up to my N64 console and once again went through each game comparing the old composite image to the new Hdmi 720p output. The results were equally just as amazing, every game now looked Crisp,Clean and more importantly No blurriness. Oddly though out of my Retro games collection Three Games didn't like the Hdmi upscale, and in fact looked better just with the composite cable alone, These were "GRANDIA 2" on Dreamcast, "TUROK dinosaur hunter N64" and "Ocarina of Time" also on N64. All other games looked absolutely stunning.Anyway that's my review of the PORTTA Av mini Hdmi upscaler...Hope it helps. Also if your wondering why I'v given only four stars and not five its because the lack of a decent USB cable and coming with No Hdmi cable at all is really Out of Order when you have just spent Twenty five quid.

For anybody wondering This works fine with old gaming system NES,SNES and more the picture looks okay but sorets of give it a charm. I used it to hook up my NES to my HDMI computer monitor with ZREO Problems. The product is well build and comes in very nice packaging it is more expensive than other prtoducts but i think the price increase is well worth it. A does what it says on the tin product! 5 stars

Used this to use my gamecube, ps2 and n64 on my Panasonic HDTVA lot of HD TVs don't support composite input anymore so this box converts the analogue input into hdmi.It needs USB power, I currently use the USB socket on a nearby router to power the unit, but keep in mind that its not supplied with a power adapter, you need usb power, so if you don't have a nearby socket, you will need to buy a usb power socket / hubIt works well, I have been playing Mario 64 on my tv :)

So I finally found the answer, my first xbox one, my HD upscaler DVD player just randomly stopped working even my Xbox 360 which I used to charge it as it almost always needed charging, my Xbox 360 just randomly stopped working too, all this over the course of the years 2017-2024 I thought maybe my old Xbox One may of overheated but it still powered on but could no longer display picture/sound it just never made sense, well now it does, put on my HD upscaler DVD player attempted to charge the portta box as there was no display and now the DVD player does not work at all, DO NOT BUY!!!, I recommend the MINI, I had a hunch it may of been the cause of the issue with my Xbox One so I bought a different HDMI to RCA, I rarely have to charge the MINI unlike this one and so far so good, but I occasionally used the Portta for my HD Upscaler DVD Player mistakeningly thinking that it may not been the cause, my mistake and big mistake, I thought just maybe the Xbox One overheated, maybe the 360 just wore out, when it all the time it was this, I am very disappointed but at least I finally have answers as to why items that worked perfectly well randomly stopped working and became useless. Do not buy it, but the MINI it works well, there is no reason as to why a HDMI to RCA could not work seemlessly its just the Portta which was clearly designed poorly and has some kind of design flaw which causes it to short circuit anything its plugged into. It is finally were it belongs, I threw it away and good riddence!!!

Used this for Netflix n chill on a 1980's telly. Probably way trendy. Fuming as just realised I left it 400 miles away after forgetting to pack properly.

This is a great little product. I plugged it in and worked perfectly straight off. It remembers what mode you selected over a power off/on cycle (720 or 1080 lines), so I have nothing bad to say about it.

Does not work as advertised! Product info states clearly that it works with PAL and NTSC analogue signal, I tried on 2 different pieces of equipment and the output was black and white from coloured video. Wasted hours trying to sort this out, to be fair the company did respond but they asked for photos which Amazon doesn't allow and then sent an email link which Amazon doesn't allow!! Finally sent this "Our engineer think that the output format of your VHS player is not compatible with the PAL or NTSC signal required by our product" Frustrating waste of my time, will be returning. Have bitten the bullet and purchased elgato which I can sell for almost what I paid once I've done transferring my old videos.

Das Ding ist super. Leider zeigt es ein "no signal" Bild (mit Regenbogen) wenn kein Signal kommt. Das kann problematisch sein wenn man es für Ambilight verwendet.

約5ヶ月半、車にてブルーレイ再生用プレーヤーに取り付け、ナビに接続して使用していますが問題なく安定動作しています。USB電源は、ブルーレイ再生用プレーヤーのUSBコネクタより供給しています。プレーヤーの電源はシガー配線より分岐し、１２V安定化電源をかませています。画質：コンポジットに変換してこの画質なら十分だと思います。音質：まぁ、こんなもんでしょう。（安定化電源からのオルタネータノイズが乗っているのは別として。）安定性：今のところ、走行中に映らない・まったく映らない・映像にノイズや乱れがないので最高です。

Funziona perfettamente su Atem studio television, lo utilizzo per convertire il segnale audio da analogico a digitale e funziona alla grande ;)

Funziona bene. Va alimentata per funzionare.
