Are they suppose to look burnt and super crispy? My 2 painted turtles wont eat it when its that dark. They spit it out and wont eat it.

Mt turtles love these and wait for them every day. The only problem I have is all the dust that accumulated once you get halfway to 2/3 of the bottle gone. Then if you can't strain that dust out it really can dirty up the water pretty fast
