This is a towering white poppy with purple staining at the base of the petals. It is tall and showy, and the light petals flutter in the breeze like crepe paper. Dramatic addition to dried arrangements, it can also be used for its edible seed which is used in baking or pressed for oil.

These seeds were the worst. They produced a bush of super small heads, and couldn’t be papaver somniferum !the heads were smaller that the nail on my little toe !!! Don’t waste your time on this phony poppy !! They also turned black and died !! THE WORST!

The flowers only last 24 to 48 hours. They are beautiful. Then you are left with the pod. Which when dry is full of seeds place in a baggie for next seasons flowers.I would buy them again.

I carefully planted them as directed, and not a single seed grew. No germination whatsoever. These were probably too old, or they were a food item that had been sterilized.

The seeds came quickly and I am looking forward to the pretty flowers this coming spring. If I do get some of the flowers, I think the big seed heads will supply lots of poppy seeds for baking and birds. ! 🌸

Not one seed grew after two plantings. Might as well have been on bread.
