Silhouette Designs for Artists and Craftspeople (Dover Pictorial Archive)

This book contains 153 royalty-free silhouettes, many of them very elegant. I copy and cut them out to decorate greeting cards (see customer image above for a card using one of the silhouettes of a lady in a hat), but they would also make lovely framed subjects, especially in pairs. The silhouettes include landscapes, numerous ladies in elaborate headdresses, butterflies, flowers, and fairies. There are a few animal silhouettes, but if that is what you're really looking for, try Dover's " Ready-to-Use Animal Silhouettes (Dover Clip Art Ready-to-Use) ." Other supplies needed to create the silhouettes for greeting card decorations include an X-acto craft knife with extra packages of #11 blades, a pair of small-bladed scissors, a printer/copier, Scherenschnitte paper (black on one side and white on the reverse side), a good cutting surface, and glue in a container with a small tip (alternatively, squeeze out a blob of glue and apply it to the reverse side of the cut-out with a toothpick).

The designs in this book are just great for the papercutter and can easily be used in other craft projects. I recommend this book.

I wanted something other than just silhouette designs, but this book is good for some scissor art. It's useful for practice.

I especially love the butterfly patterns! This is only a collection of patterns. There are no instructions so you need to already know how to use the book.

This has an abundance of art that is of particular interest to me. Easily manipulated into more detailed art pieces.

Am doing props for the show Ragtime and this was very useful.. Really glad I was able to purchase this item.

Ich habe dieses Buch im Januar gekauft. Ich kann es besten Gewissens weiter empfehlen und bin sicher, dass diejenigen, die es kaufen, genausoviel Freude daran haben werden wie ich. Meine letzten Scherenschnitte habe ich vor vielen Jahren gemacht. Trotzdem bin ich mit dem Buch sehr gut zurecht gekommen. Die Muster sind sehr schön und nicht zu anspruchsvoll. Mit ein bisschen Übung kann man die Innenschnitte sehr gut bewältigen. Wenn die fertigen Scherenschnitte dann eingerahmt an der Wand hängen, sehen sie großartig aus.
