RUSTINS Heat Resistant Black Paint 500ml

It's BLACK! Proper black. Great consistency, pretty thick, goes on like a dream and I only needed one coat. We painted the alcove where our log burner sits and it looks awesome. No smell at all. Water based so it cleans off if you make a mistake and you dont need turps for the brush. It dries super quick and is well priced and I'm very happy. The people who have given this a bad review are quite clearly doing it wrong. Or reviewing a different product. I dont get it tbh.

Excellent quality, quick drying easy to get off my hands. I used it outside on the move… Got it on my hands and was able to rub it off. Didn’t need thick coverage at all literally one coat did the job (painted over white) will use the remaining to do my fireplace! Didn’t notice any odour great colour and consistency easy coverage

Goes on nicely, drys quick but I used it for stove top iron plates and it isn’t up to the temperatures.

This is my second time buying this for tiles around the fireplace. This is very easy to apply, and the thick consistency means that a little goes a long way. Lovely dark black colour. Good adhesion—the only reason I am using it again is because my home (unfortunately) is susceptible to lots of dust, which has dulled a lot of my furniture through dusting—so I like to repaint once a year as I love the very dark black look. This is my go-to heat resistant paint, it’s a fantastic price and as mentioned a little goes a very long way, it’s also durable. My only quibble is the courier, they used Evri for this delivery and I received the parcel with a massive rip, fairly obvious that someone was trying to steal the contents. Thankfully the thief didn’t need a pot of paint! Hopefully they switch the courier to Royal Mail or DPD, or Amazon’s own delivery.

I bought Rustins High Heat Black Paint 400ml Spray as part of the restoration of a fireplace insert. However, on receipt the small print on the can said that the paint needed to be cured at 220degC for at least 20 minutes which I knew my fireplace would not achieve. A phone call to Rustins technical department confirmed this product would not be suitable and the helpful agent advised their quick dry heat resistant paint which I ordered through Amazon Prime and received it that same evening. The paint has the convenience of any water-based product but with the consistency of a good quality oil paint. It is so easy to apply with a brush and leaves no evidence of brush strokes. Common comments in many reviews of similar products state that the products dry to a dark grey, not black. This Rustins paint dries perfectly to a matt black and I am delighted with the finish. It has enhanced the bio-ethanol inset fire (see photo) and early indications are that it has good heat resistance. Three coats used approximately half of the tin so the transformation cost less than £5. If you do what it says on the tin, then it will do what it says on the tin! Highly recommend it.

This is an incredible product and drives very quickly, which is great when you’re assembling parts on an engine leaves a good finish

Good paint but ordered black and when I painted tiles people are commenting it looks deep purple when sun shines on them :(
