I can certainly confirm that it's a good, borderline great rendition of Silver Mountain Water, only not alcohol-based. Not sure what the carrier compound is, but there's absolutely no blast of alcohol in the opening, and the atomizer works just like any other. So there's no weird sputtering or chunky milky white stuff like with other water-based formulas. The mist is fine and the sprayer is quasi-pressurized so thumbs up there. And right off the bat it's pretty clear what it's mimicking (if the textured box and crown logo weren't obvious enough). Honestly never been a huge fan of the original SMW, but this one absolutely nails the massive dose of woody amber musk which is the main player in the scent. Can't say I get much citrus or fruitiness either, just that metallic musk and some synthetic freshness for push. In fact, it'd be easy to compare it to the base fixative in most generic fragrant deodorant sprays, only without the sweet fruity top/mid notes. Definitely nothing complex or interesting, so it's more of a niche scent. As for consistency, it goes on more oily than others, but doesn't leave quite as large of a sheen as I was expecting, so there is some evaporation initially. But lacking alcohol, there is a pretty noticeable cut in projection for the first 3-5 minutes. After that, projection actually increases for a good 30 minutes before dying down again and remaining as a skin scent for another 5-6. So longevity is actually decent for a freshie. The trick is to get the body warm enough to give the projection a bump, which isn't that difficult in warmer climates. Plus you get an additional 20 mL over something like CDN Sillage, which is yet another super similar scent (from the same parent company I think). Overall, since I knew what I was getting into, I can honestly say that I'm happy with both the scent and performance. The bottle is a fingerprint magnet, but at least the cap is fully metallic (and heavy). I think I still prefer something like Mefisto Gentiluomo in terms of the overall scent profile because it has that awesome violet leaf, but you could easily use this as a base for layering. Those looking for indie or artisanal stuff will likely find it boring and horribly synthetic; but if you're looking for a SMW alt, this is probably the best value one I've come across. Moreover, the product is 100% legit. Yet to try the two others in this line, but I've only heard good things. 4.2/5 stars overall.

Hamidi is a sub brand of Armaf and it shows. These perfumes are non alcohol based, very oily and high quality. This one is not much up my ally in terms of smell but in terms of quality and performance, this is top notch. Try their Addicted Intense (Aventus clone) it's truly the best of the bunch.
