It works as a quick slicer for the tops of unbaked bread plus another great use!
I purchased a lam like this for preparing bread for baking and it worked well. My lam skills are still in the making. My new use for my lam is to lightly scrape the enameled burner pans of my gas stovetop. For years, I have tried every cleaner and solvent I could find to remove baked on food from my cooktop. I kept it as clean as I could, but was bothered and embarrassed over the dull layer of hardened food which obscured the shiny black finish it once had. On YouTube, a man showed how to use a straight blade to remove years of baked on material from a different stovetop. The surfaces on his stove were straight. Mine are curved, everywhere! Then it came to me. Use my lam! It has a handle. It curves to the contour and it’s inexpensive. After patiently, lightly scraping, I am happy to say that my twenty year old cooktop looks good as new. The beautiful, black shiny enamel is still there! I bought this one to replace my old lam for scoring bread.

Not worth the money- blade is dull right out of the box!!
I liked the way this razor fits in the hand and is curved. I only wish that it worked well when cutting dough.I have tried several times but the blade is dull and catches the dough every time. And forget about fine line work when scoring and decorating your loaves. Not possible with this device. I ended up resorting to a double sided shaving razor which was finer and sharper and cheaper! This one will end up as a sting cutter and nothing more. In the kitchen drawer it goes!

Cuts bread... like a razor
Cuts the bread loafs just as it should. Nice sharp razor for your baking needs

Good not great
Rusted after going in the dishwasher one time. It still works fine but I wish it were stainless

Buy one with replaceable blades instead.
Only lasts a few uses before it begins to rust even though it was washed and dried and put away immediately on every use. Since you can’t replace the blades it costs more than it is worth.

Very dull
I was very disappointed in the blades when they arrived. I was excited that the blades were fixed to the handle because I hate when I’m scoring and the blade pops off. But this blade is not very sharp and barley cut the bread. I bought the 5 pack because I cut a lot of bread, and I would return all of them if I hadn’t used the two already. Would not recommend.

Nice that they're disposable.
I looked at a lot of lames for my wife... finally settled on these because at the rate she'll use one, this set of 5 will likely last several years. I like the fact that they're disposable... changing a double-edged razor blade can be tricky. I'm an old ER doc.... the thought of her cutting herself and needing stitches makes me wince. ;-)

Can’t replace the blade
I should’ve read the reviews. This lamb was the dull right out of the box. There is no way to replace the blade. It went right in the trash.
