The mattress turned off after 3 seconds and not working (inflation and deflation)

After using this for the first time and inflating the mattress as per the instructions, there was a low inside at the pump and immediately smoke and sparks appeared. I tried again and it got worse. The pump doesn't work anymore and it could have caused a serious danger. This is not safe and unfortunately my warranty expired before I tested it. Not recommended, it was expensive and a trusted brand and I am severely let down and disappointed.

UPDATE: The seller provided a refund. Great customer service. I will try King Koil again because my first mattress from them was so comfortable.This is my second King Koil mattress. The box says Queen 60”x80”, but it measures smaller and took up noticeably less space on the bed frame than my prior one. Either I was sent a full size in a Queen box, or their measurements are misleading. It’s unfortunate, I had been happy with the first one.

This product has a "built in pillow" that I missed in reading the description, and the pictures do not really show this feature. What it means is the head of the mattress is raised up. Even so, it doesn't eliminate the need for a pillow, however, with this raised portion and using a pillow, my guests woke up with hurting necks and headaches. It did also take a couple of days for the plastic smell to dissipate, it was quite strong the first two days. The mattress inflated quickly but does not automatically shut off either in inflate or deflate mode so stay with it while inflating or deflating. I did like the cord keeper opening that has a "door" on it to keep the cord from hanging down. I liked the size of the mattress, the 13" depth allowed for my normal sheets to fit (almost, the raised head portion did present a bit of a non-fit). I do wish the air mattress manufacturers installed some type of non-slip option on the bottoms. This one does slip around easily on a carpeted surface.

I bought this after using a terrible pos for the last few years so comparatively this one is much nicer. Only thing is be careful not to put it too close to the wall or you’ll slam the dials into the wall. Also I didn’t realize you had to actually deflate it vs a natural air deflate. Besides that it’s super easy to use and blows up quick and keeps its air id day decently but I’d top it off daily. Even folded up it does take a fair amount of room in storage, the bag it came with is decent as well.

I have been sleeping on this for 6 weeks. I have hip pain. My fancy mattress and topper were making it worse. In desperation I tried this air mattress. I had it on hand for my daughters visits. It's not a long term solution. But it's working great for now.
