Son of the Black Stallion

The loss of Walter Farley was a loss to horse fans. Many decades later his books still shine brightly.This is the third book in his series. Unlike today's authors that write part of a story and force you to buy their next book, each book is complete story of its own and can be read as a stand alone. I only suggest that you read them in order so you don't miss out.This book is about a young man's love for his horse, trust in his family and belief in friends brought him to meet his dreams.

Loved these books as a child, now my grandchildren are enjoying them too. Delighted that another generation enjoys this series as much as I did.If your child like adventure and loves horses they will enjoy these books.

I had read this book years ago and wished to have it again for an enjoyable read taking me back to memory lane, and to complete a set of my favorites of the series: the black stallion, son of the black stallion, black stallion and satan, and black stallion's filly; plus or minus "return of the black stallion" which I may purchase next time.

This book is riveting and very exciting. If you're a fan of horses, I would recommend that you buy this book!

You just can't go wrong with The Black Stallion series. Reading these to my daughter, and she is enjoying them as much as I did as a kid.

This story about the Son of the "Black" is just as enjoyable as the first book in the series. Triumph over Adversity, Willingness to Work Hard, Good over Evil, and just a plain good horse story, it doesn't get any better than this. Sheer entertainment!

There are no bad Black Stallions in the minds of young children. This hero is a work of art, strength and beauty. And there is always a moral lesson to be learned from these stories. Give your kids a break.

i bought the black stallion as i had read it as a teenager...and it was as good as when i first read it..i decided to start reading the whole series and this book is fantastic.i struggled to put it down.Abu sends Alec The Black's first born...a colt.....a wild colt...and the fun begins.

Love this story - and have started collecting all the others to read to my son.

Good book for my great grandaughter

Book came in perfect condition. Good thing because this was part of a children’s Christmas present. Text is spaced out & very legible. The 11 yr old I bought it for is an avid reader & he breezed through the 1st book, The Black Stallion. His sister, who is 9, started the book, but as she’s not as avid a reader as her brother, she put the book down & will pick it up after she’s read her Isadora Moon book (easy to read & a great series by the way). The difficulty level is very child dependent. Hard to believe The Black Stallion books are still in print. This is a very good thing!
