Flux Collapsible Backpacking Water Bottle (750ml, 1L, 1.5L)

I've tried a few soft bottles because there's a lot of appeal for camping and traveling - lightweight and doesn't take a lot of space, and sometimes I don't want to deal a hydration bladder. They've all had issues - nalgene's would fall over due to the large wide mouth cap, platypus's were impossible to dry, and so on. Found an older model of the hydrapak flux that I loved for camping and traveling - super easy to pack, came in at least 32 oz, stood up on it's own, and was easier to clean and dry. Didn't super love the twist cap as it didn't release air so it would eventually flop over as you drank, and the mouthpiece was exposed. After the wife made me carry her double walled bottle during skiing, I bought her bottle, and I feel it's been improved in every way. It's wider so there's a more stable base, they added a flip cap, and now when you untwist, it lets air escape so the bottle will expand back to it's normal shape. They added clear plastic on the top so it's easier to see how much liquid is left, and the cap prevents leakage while still in the open twisted position. The loop is longer which makes it easier to roll up as in the pictures, but it's still kind of a pain, so I rarely do it. I'm undecided whether to just steal my wife's bottle, or buy a second one for myself. I still use hard bottles for sizes about 32 oz as I'm unsure of the sturdiness of the larger sizes, but this has become my go to whenever I want to take some water out of the house.

I've never written an Amazon review but felt compelled to do so after buying many different types of collapsible water bottles at once. This is my favorite. It has some structure but also collapses. It's pleasant and fun to drink out of. It does have a bit of a rubbery/plastic-y taste that might bother some people -- personally, I don't mind it at all. Durable materials. Recommended.

Lightweight, collapsible bottles. I just used them on a 3 day backpack trip and really liked how the 46mm mouth adapts to my BeFree filter. This system made water management much easier. Two minor issues to be aware of… rinse multiple times before use to reduce nasty plastic taste, which is not a concern with Nalgene bottles. Secondly, because they are collapsible, they have a tendency to tip over especially when empty and your hands are being used to fill them from a water filter.

This bottle is great for hiking, especially when paired with the filter. Highly recommended!

This water bottle is nice and light, and collapses for easy storage in your back pack, purse, etc. It looks great, but do NOT put it in the dishwasher. It says that it is top rack safe. but mine melted on the top rack. Not it won't stand up on its own, which makes filling it difficult. HAND WASH ONLY!

Out of the box I loved this! I was looking for a fit for my Katadyn filter. I have used a Solomon vest bottle, which was also a perfect fit, but that filed over time (those bottles are known for that), and I wanted to add more durability but not much more weight. Took it on a 10 mile hike over the weekend and noticed only some taste problems - BUT I hadn’t even rinsed it. Whoops. Overall, really like this and intend to take it every hike! I Also love the size: had enough water towards the end of the hike to help top off a hiker coming up who hadn’t brought enough water for his dog. Water your pups :)

We were on a trip to Alaska and I saw this bottle in an outdoor store calling out to me. Of course I quickly looked it up on amazon and did an impulse buy thinking it would be perfect for our next trip. Unfortunately, I should have used it before our return period with amazon. I really wanted to like this, its durable, it folds up small.. Drinking from it with the spout is hard to get used to since the bottle has no form, but doable. The issue is, when you put water in it... It morphs it to something unusable. The plastic taste was so bad after only a day in the bottle that my wife spit It out after taking a swig. We dumped the water and used a different bottle. Again, I wanted to like this but will prob just go back to our vacuum sealed bottles for our next trip. I am afraid this one will just collect dust for the rest of its life. I might try some of the lemon juice tricks I have read on other reviews but honestly I feel like I shouldn't have to do so much aftermarket effort to make a drinking bottle usable.

Took to Europe and was so handy. It is extremely lightweight and easy to roll up and hook to my bag. It did initially have a taste, but after a good clean out with lemon and bicarb, it went away. Great size bottle!

la bouteille contamine l'eau donne un fort gout de plastic malgré un lavage puis rincage intensif : trempage a l'eau chaude durant 2 semaines, avec changement de l'eau tout les jours apres oui le concept d'une gourde semi rigide c'est vraiment bien mais ce modele a clairement un gros probleme

I purchased a Hydrapak flux bottle but unfortunately it had a minute pin hole near the top of the bottle. Gutted! My return window had ended even before I had the chance to use the bottle and did not learn about the leak until too late. (most likely made this way) Doubly gutted. I contacted the seller and they immediately said they would replace the item. Perfect service. Thank you Scale Farm. The bottle is fantastic. It was most likely one of those unlucky ‘one offs’ were the bottle was defective but the product is definitely worth buying. ( without pin hole!) Recommend you buy this bottle and buy it from scalefarm.com at least then you have a good team at the end of a keyboard waiting to help you.
