There is no aspect of this tea that is not perfection - from the beautiful packaging to the smell of the tea to its flavor. This is truly outstanding tea - it is really special, it is not only from Kyoto, it is from Uji - some of the most exquisite teas are from Uji, and a tea master has created this blend from teh absolute best. This is not tea that you just dump boiling water on top of and gulp down as soon as it is coole enough to drink - this tea is meant to be enjoyed and is worth enjoying. The packaging feels very luxurious and is absolutely beautiful - I will be purchasing this tea again specifically for gifts for people who will appreciate it for how special it actually is! This is going to make an incredible gift - it really is something a tea connoisseur wll be excited to drink!It smells so sweet and grassy when you open the package and the tea itself is in beautiful condition - not broken and dusty, a deep rich green. I used 4g of the loose tea leaves to brew 160ml of water heated to 60*c, making sure to first warm the cup and bowl, and let it brew for about 3 minutes before straining it into my (preheated) cup (My fellow Americans, this is 1 tsp of tea and 2/3 Cup of water that has cooled from boiling to 140*F!)It is such a delicate but present flavor - sweet in the sense that grass or hay is sweet, not a hint of bitterness or harshness, fresh and green - this is simply the best tea I have ever had and I am going to have to find the perfect balance between saving it for special occassions and not using it fast enough - it will be something you will want to save, but make sure to use it before it passes its peak so you can truly enjoy it!
