Essential reading. Good print quality

Perfect combination of good side of legible print, good quality pages; but doesn’t weigh a ton

A decent Bible for a decent price, the NRSV-CE isn’t as good a translation as the RSV-CE. The fact it’s called the “New” is likely to give the impression that it’s improved, better than the RSV. It really isn’t, but it’s good to have both and indeed other translations to compare and contrast and get a fuller understanding of what’s being said through sacred scripture!And yes, the Bible is a Catholic book.

For the positives: The text/translation itself is indeed to a very professional quality.Next the negatives:1) 'Extra Large' - is a little misleading for the elderly who are used to large print library books.2) The condition that this Bible arrived in was disappointing, although definitely not damp the pages at the beginning were 'paired off' by the top right corners'. They could be separated but not without creasing the respective pages. The binding itself had indentions (which were not present in the packaging itself and must have thus been present at the time of dispatch).3) The recipient was also disappointed by the quality of the paper which was deffinitely not close to that of their current Bible, so time to find another edition...

I thought that there were more God breathed words on love where love is described in the New Testament. I couldn't find there will be no more weeping in Revelations either. Maybe I should also order another version of the Bible also from Amazon as I am a Roman catholic with mixed Christian attachment to mainstream Presbyterian church NI UK 2001-2007 and had a different bible then.

Very good, accurate, modern English version of Catholic Bible. This is the most important and very difficult book to read anyway so it is a great advantage for me as a non-native English that it is not written in "ancient" English like for example Douay-Rheims edition. Highly recommended.

It's what it is, a bible. One slight difference to the normal paper version - the footnotes explaining various Hebrew sayings and the like are all listed at the end if each book, rather than at the bottom of each "page". Although the Kindle lookup feature works well, if not better - if you have WiFi switched on.
