Bright, round red roots make this variety the choice for mid-season radishes. Champion has strong tops and roots that are late to get pithy. Use as your main season radish after early varieties like Cherry Belle. For best quality, radishes need to mature quickly with plenty of water. For successive crops sow every two weeks from late spring through summer. During mid-summer heat, plant in a lightly shaded area. Try inter-planting radishes with slower germinating varieties like carrots. Radishes can be harvested while carrot seedlings are tiny.
