Until I Get You

This is a really well written story with lots of depth and twists and turns. I felt the angst and love in this book. I was left desperate to know what the next chapter unveiled. There is some spice 🌶 I'd say 2/3 out of 5 but the story line definitely makes up for it, if you searching for a new book based on the spice content. I'd highly recommend, I was captivated from the start and could not put this boom down.

A really good story . With plenty going on . Both leading Male and Female have issues to work through . But the female has the worst . A book well worth reading . Even thou it is a long one well for me it was 500 and some pages .

ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEEE!!! This book had me on my knees. My heart!Ok so. I had read 2 comments saying it took a while to have action and, personally, I got sucked into it super quickly though I do agree, it got slow for a little while, like, 3-4 chapters?The story line was so well thought out and everything/everyone was introduced perfectly. Lyla’s feelings and angst and anxiety radiated through the book. Lachlan’s anger and obsession was the same. To me, I couldn’t escape relating to them and feeling what they were feeling. They made me cry and laugh and love them too.Even the side characters were so present, nothing felt unfinished to me when I sadly had to turn the last page.It is well written, the pace of the story was perfect (yes it got slow for a few chapters but trust me, it’s necessary for what happens next as it’s a whirlwind. You need to take a breath babe!), the characters are easy to get attached too.Now, beautiful readers, read the warnings! Especially the last one because it gets difficult. Keep your mind safe :) and thank you Claire Contreras for an excellent book.

Firstly, I loved the combination of dark + hockey romance! This is the first time I’ve read a book with these tropes and it delivered so well. This was so intense all the way through!Our MC’s, Lachlan and Lyla, have instant attraction but I loved how there was some push and pull at first. Understandably Lyla is apprehensive at first, but I love that Lach is the one to help her be herself again following her trauma. Lachlan is your typical playboy turned boy obsessed and I really enjoyed that transition in his character. The boy obsessed bit really takes it up a notch in part 2 and I was here for it 🥵 we love that possessive streak.You already know from the synopsis that there is a time jump and it makes their story that much more angsty and emotional. Both had their reasons but I wish we delved a little deeper into them, as the story and rationale lacked depth a little for me. However, part 2 was definitely my favourite aspect of the book and the hottest. Undeniable attraction 🔥This is my first read from Claire and the writing style was great, I loved and needed the dual POV. There were moments in the story I felt information was getting dumped and we could have done with it earlier on or seen it as dialogue between characters. I also felt the intentions of both MC’s had no rationale and they felt a little empty.Amazing friendships for Lyla, with Marissa and Pres. She needed those people in her corner. The ending everyone deserved.High recommend for those dark and hockey romance lovers like myself out there. A very unique, intense and endearing story! Loved this book, very hard to put down! The story line and characters were very interesting and strong- you really got to know them.The sex was great and intense- the story line was heart breaking but made the book even better! A must read ❤️ 🌶️4

I’ve been in a book lull for a while as the last 3 books I’ve read were awful but this… THIS was amazing!!! I enjoyed every single part of it and the writing was phenomenal. It was knitted together perfectly from past to future and I really did get a full extent of what the writer was trying to give me in this book. The spicy scenes were well written and not tacky or cringy at all, the emotion was perfectly done and I loved the main characters! So glad I found this 10/10

First book from this Author. I love it. I like obsessive, posessive MC to bits. Whole book was amazing and would be Happy to read more about their babies, whole saga if that even will be on table fór us readers

Hockey romance: check.He falls first: check.2nd chance romance: check.Marriage of convenience: check.Add a sprinkle of dark romance: check.And there’s was no lacking in the spice department. This book is almost like 2 books in one. I thought it was coming to an end only to realize I was only finishing the first third of the story. Loved it! The characters a cute and the writer was able to make me laugh, cry and stay invested throughout the entire story.

Heed the author warnings if you’re triggered, because it’s a lot. There isn’t just one occurrence and the topics of SA are woven through the story.Claire Contreras has written a story with excellent character development, events that unfold as one expects, romance and the spicy scenes that enhance it all. Lyla is complex and unfolds like a butterfly. She’s numb and covered up, silent. As she grows in friendships, acceptance of the past and possibilities of love not heartache, her colors brighten. Completed unfurled and spreading her wings is magic. She’s strong, capable, devoted, loving and it all plays out with Mr Duke nearby.This book is perfect for reading at bedtime or an afternoon on the sofa. It’s not a beach read but could be good lounging out by the pool. The spicy sex scenes might require you to have privacy though, ahem. Woo, it’s a good one! Highly Recommend.

I really adored Lach and Lyla. Although some things seemed rushed, I actually liked seeing them together in different stages of life. Lach can be a jerk, but he is SO sweet and loves Lyla so completely, I felt both happy and sad - honestly, can you imagine someone loving another person that much in real life?! I have highlighted way too many parts of the book thanks to him.

I just don't have enough words for the emotional rollercoaster ride this book has given me. Must read this epic one ...
