I'm an older seasoned automotive technician, I'm reviewing this product based on my many years of experience in the field using high quality tools and equipment. Digital Halogen leak detector used for detecting freon leaks in A/C systems. Made of plastic with flexible wand for reaching tight places in A/C systems. Seems to work okay, put the wand near our freon tank and it detected the presence of freon, but unsure just how small of a leak it will detect. I'll update this review as needed once the A/C season is in full swing. Price point is considered high for this item.

I was worried that I have a refrigerant leak, since I noticed some oil on my A/C unit outside. My unit uses the sought-after R22 freon refrigerant, which has been discontinued. A leak in my unit would mean I need to fork over big bucks to drain the system and add new freon. I first tested this new device a few different ways, and it appears to work as directed. I then used the device on my outside unit and to my surprise, no leak was detected. Went upstairs to the HVAC unit in the attic and sure thing, found a leak in my condenser coils! Patched it up myself and potentially saved me hundreds. Awesome device!
