Reliable and sturdy – using it for almost a year with no issues
I've been using the Sportneer bike lock for almost a year now, and it's been excellent. It's strong, easy to use, and gives me peace of mind when I leave my bike parked. The lock mechanism still works smoothly, and the cable is thick and durable. I’ve had no problems at all, even with regular use. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a solid, dependable bike lock!

It definitely works!
I can 100% say that this bike lock absolutely works! Unfortunately had someone try and steal my bike with zip ties, and something that shredded and melted the plastic pieces, but the lock didn’t budge! I immediately reordered and now recommend to everyone.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is a new design to me. I'm used to the other kind of combination locks. My daughter likes the orange, she had no problems setting up the combination, she sent me a picture so we would not forget it.

Pretty Purple Bike Lock with a Wonderful Illusion of Security
Very pretty bike lock (mine is purple). As a security nerd, I know it could not really prevent a determined adversary from stealing my bike. There are probably videos on how to crack it like a walnut all over yon Intertubes by now. But the main thing for me is that it's purple. The other main thing is that it gives me a lovely illusion of security. As an American, I really value the illusion of security, both in my personal life and in the world around me, especially things like products, drugs and foreign policy. This bike lock fits that delusional paradigm… to a "T". :-)BTW, in case you like 007 movies, changing the 5-digit numeric code is quite easy to do (there's a dial you can turn so you can set your own 5-digit code). Please note: the cryptographic entropy of a 5-digit code is slightly better than a 4-digit PIN code for your ATM card (which is essentially "trivial" making most bank cards ridiculously easy to hack). Meanwhile, my bike lock has alternating colors on the five numeric dials! That's so chic! And, while that simple visual feature may seem trivial to some cynics, it actually helps me dial up my secret-squirrel code in dim light. Also, it's stripe-y, which adds pizzaz (I'd give it 5 stars if it was sparkly purple).SO... to recap: illusion of security, check. Looks really cool, check. Would someone with even the most puny bolt cutter be able to slice it off in a few heartbeats? Sure. Check. But the pretty purple synthetic wrapping on the chain adds MYSTERY about the chain hidden inside: unless a thief has a knife, s/he doesn't know… it might be forged in the core of a neutron star from a super-hard dilithium-adamantium-unobtainum-mythomnium alloy, capable of withstanding repeated blows from Mjolnir (hint: it won't, but again, did I mention? It's... PURPLE?). THe chances of me meeting Thor in person and him needing my bike are computationally infeasible, so... I got this bike lock. Because it's purple.NOTE: there's a cute hack in the manual for figuring out what the code is set to -- if the lock is already open. It's similar to some lockpicking techniques, but still accessible enough for civilians to perform, so kudos to the designers. This also tells me (again: a security pro) that this lock can be defeated pretty easily. BUT! If you're a space cadet and you regularly forget things like your passwords, then despite the cognitive dissonance here, this could be a good thing! No, really. I'm not being sarcastic. While this lock provides nearly zero actual security (from a cryptographic POV) it's (a) a very pretty purple and (b) it will keep casual thieves from riding away on your bike too easily. And when it comes down to it, that's what you get for a few bucks. Illusion and minimal liability protection. If you want better security, buy a hundred bucks worth of hardened steel chain and a lock with a biometric mechanism (specifically: buy a Doberman Pinscher, keep him a little hungry when you go out and chain the dog to your bike).Oh, and be sure to use whatever lock you buy to lock the proper parts of your bike (frame, rear wheel, etc) to something serious like a metal tube anchored in concrete. Do NOT chain a valuable bike to a street sign: talented bike thieves,m of which there are many in this wonderful world, can work together to lift a chained-up bike off them). You can also do Smart Things™ like slipping your quick-release front wheel off and/or popping out your battery and taking those with you.In case I didn't mention, I got mine in purple and I like it a lot.

Stopped the bike thieves
Thieves tried to cut this lock in my apartment complex, it prevented my bike from being stolen because they couldn’t cut through it with bolt cutters. Totally worth the investment.
