Eight months in, no trouble yet!
I bought the Wavlink WiFi Access Point (AP) back in September of '23. My property is a "narrow acre." I have need for WiFi from my house out in my barn, which is at the opposite end of the property. I also have WiFi needs in another outbuilding and in a guest house (a 5th wheel trailer). The AP is mounted to the side of the outbuilding, which is about a third of the way between the house and the barn. It has no issues at all picking up a good signal from the WiFi router in the house and NO problems extending that signal to the rest of the property! You can also use a network cable to plug the unit into a hardline internet router. I can stream video with no issues in the workshop in my barn, which is, by the way, a STEEL building! I even have a good signal about forty feet BEHIND the barn! This AP replaced another one that would intermittently lose connection to the WiFi router in the house. When this happened I'd lose connection to several WiFi-enabled temperature sensors in the barn, which would trigger an alert on my phone. I then had to go to the outbuilding and power-cycle the access point for it to reconnect. The Wavlink AP has been online for eight months. I have not needed to reset it yet.The unit is solidly made, and looks to be able to handle bad weather without issue. I don't have snow or ice here in the Desert Southwest, but I do have 100*+ temps, wide temperature swings, and LOTS of DUST. I've had no issues and the AP still looks like new. The antennas are some kind of composite; probably fiberglass, and are sturdy. They have O-ring seals where they screw into the chassis. The unit gets its power from a POE (Power Over Ethernet) "pass-thru" adapter that plugs into the power outlet. Then you run an ethernet cable from the adapter to the AP, where it plugs into the bottom of the unit. If you're connecting the AP to a hardline router, you run an ethernet cable from the router to the POE adapter, and then another cable from the adapter to the AP. There's a compression fitting at the AP that you tighten after you plug the cable into the unit to keep water and critters out. Overall, it's really well designed and constructed, and this is coming from a person who's NOT a big fan of Chinese-made products! The only reason I gave it a 3-star rating for customer support is that I didn't have to access it.If you need something like this where you live or work, you'll be happy with this unit!

So Far Not So Good
This is a pretty much completely revised review of this product. After quite a bit of difficulty, I got this unit to work in AP (access point) mode as it should. Quite a bit of that difficulty was a quite poor set of instructions that left many technical details out. Still, for a time, the unit failed to produce any RF output that could be located on a WiFi finder and I still don't know the reason. This unit is built reasonably well externally but for its mounting provisions. It is rated for outdoor use and appears to be well suited for that purpose. The case, antennas, and connections are suitably designed to prevent the entry of water and the case is made of white ABS plastic which should take the elements. The mount has two methods. The unit can be strapped to a pole with two stainless steel straps (provided) or it can be mounted on a wall using a rear plate with four slotted screw mounts where the plate slips over the 4 screw heads embedded in a wall. The issue I had was getting all four to line up with the plate holes and I ended up only being able to use 2 of the 4. The wall was brick and even with a template, hole positioning couldn't be made accurately enough to match the plate. If the plate went on first and the the unit attached to the plate, it would have been better, but the plate attaches to the back of the unit and then its "on the wall" with the whole unit - not a good mounting solution for walls. The unit is now producing a usable WiFi signal but it's not as strong as I expected, and at times, measures the same power as my desktop router so I have yet to see if this works as a high power access point in the actual application. At one point, I was completely blocked out of getting into the unit's control system and the RF output was dead, but the next time I powered the unit (a day later), that had cleared up and then the unit was working so it worries me a bit in terms of reliability. I had tried a number of things including resets, powering cycles, and changing some settings to get the RF output, but to no avail until it just started working. I have technical skills so someone who doesn't might not be that happy with this unit's setup.Their tech support did get back to me this morning (Monday) and I have to see what they have to say, but there is no weekend tech support for this product. I raised my scoring on this product, but due to the mounting issue and the difficulty I had, I can't give 5 stars. Once I get this installed and tested, I'll report my results here in an addenda.

Would not connect to WIFI
Spent hours attempting to connect. The instructions that came with it was horribly vague. My router picked up the the signal from the extender and I was able to go through the setup process. Once completed and saved it directed me to refresh but when I tapped refresh got a notification site not available. There is no weekend support, the US customer service phone# will not connect, the 1-888 number directs you back to the customer service email which ask you some questions and are slow to respond if at all. You cannot speak with a human. Back in the box it goes and back to Amazon it goes. I will not buy the WavLink product ever again. My advice, don't waste your time or money!

Excellent product(s) and excellent after sales service
The AX1800 (aka. Ariel HD6) is a powerful network router. The interface is easy to understand and navigate. The performance has been flawless. Integration with other Wavlink products in a Mesh Network was easy to accomplish and is providing coverage to my entire 6 acre backyard, even in wooded areas. I could not be happier with the purchases. Security features are up to date. Moreover, this has been the most satisfying customer service experience! I had two (software) issues with two separate devices. Both times the seller was easy to reach, promptly responded to email requests (even though they truly are on the other side of the globe), and both times were able to resolve the issues. I would rate both the Wavlink customer support and the Wavlink router(s) that I purchased very highly. I would not hesitate to purchase other Wavlink products if the need arose.
