From what we could find during a long research, these are the best new GCSE Maths (9-1) test papers students/parents can freely purchase. Absolutely worth the money. My son was flying though the past GCSE papers of the “old system”. Even the sparsely available Edexcel New Specimen Papers for the new GCSE (9-1) were not really challenging. This made us really nervous as we thought we might not be able to find any material that would help him stretching his knowledge a little more towards the target grade 9. These RSL papers are the first papers that we could buy ourselves (as opposed to what schools might have access to) which did challenge him. Of course, we do not know if working through these papers will guarantee him such grade, but we can say with confidence that they are certainly challenging enough to be of great help in preparing him to work towards the grade 9 he is aiming to achieve. We are very grateful for the publishing of this product and have recommended a few friends to buy these also. Please note that copying is prohibited and rightly so. If the author does not make enough money from publishing these, there will not be much incentive for them to complete the next volume of test papers. Currently there is only Volume 1 of the non-calculator papers available; as we understand, Volume 2 is to be published in future, as well as two volumes of calculator test papers.

My eldest son loves maths and has really enjoyed going through this set of papers as they provide a real challenge. There are six papers in total and they increase in difficulty, which is not a problem as anything the student did not understand is explained fully (the depth of the mark scheme has to be seen to be believed!) and then the next paper enables those new skills.The worded questions are very well thought out and retain interest.My son has found these more of a challenge than the real higher maths GCSE papers, which has given him a lot of confidence and now feels able to answer any question!

If you only buy one resource to help with the new GCSE maths, make it this one. Essentially, it's a collection of question papers presented in loose leaf style to be administered as practice tests. In itself, this is useful; there are precious few papers available for the 9 to 1 presentation. However, the benefits extend further with fully worked and reasoned answers included. As a tutor, I am usually exasperated by the explanations given in exam board 'revision' books. They tend to rely heavily on colour annotations and fancy fonts that serve as a distraction to the actual maths. In contrast, these papers are realistic in their presentation and afford the luxury of seeing the answers presented exactly as the student would. The answer sheets are printed but appear as handwritten exemplars, with questions annotated as the student should learn to do themselves. Honestly, it's a treasure. I will be recommending this pack and purchasing other resources for myself.

I purchased the Maths and German GCSE revision guides from RSL Educational and they are just fantastic. They will be a great asset and help my daughter tremendously in the build up to her GCSEs’. Great for self-study.

I wish I had discovered these earlier! I am a private Maths tutor and these are great for practising exam style questions and building confidence. The solutions are clear with numerous pointers.... only concern is that it could put me out of a job!!!The papers are loose pages - it would have been good if they could have been in a booklet form - minor problem though and easily solved with a stapler!

This was more for UK students but good ideas also in helping to revise as an Irish Student.
