VollrathTribute Ceramiguard II 10" Fry Pan, Stainless Steel

Update 2016-03-07:Working through the seller, KaTom, the manufacturer, Vollrath, shipped a replacement pan at no cost. The new pan is mush better. Phenomenal non-stick pan. My review is now based on the replacement pan, which is great. Handle still gets a little warm, but it's not a deal breaker. Vollrath is a quality company that makes great products. Support this U.S. company. KaTom is a great seller, support them, too.Update 2016-02-26:I contacted Vollrath and the representative stated that the pan should have a flat bottom. I have attached pictures to show that the pan I received does indeed have a convex bottom. I have submitted a return request from the seller. I hope this is not a generic manufacturing issue for Vollrath with this pan.2016-02-25:I was in need of a new non-stick fry pan and, after much research, decided on the Vollrath 69610 Ceramiguard II 10-inch pan. I have other Vollrath products and have been happy with them, plus it's made here in the U.S. So, I ordered it, received it quickly (thank you KaTom), and used it promptly.I give this product 3 Stars at this point, with a possibility of improving, dependent on my feedback from Vollrath.Negatives: The pan I received seems to have a convex bottom to it. Any oil or liquid runs to the outer circumference of the pan bottom and does not spread evenly across the bottom. This makes light oil frying difficult because the oil does not contact the food. The user needs to use much more oil in order to actually fry the food, which is a waste of oil and money. I have asked the manufacturer about this and am waiting for a reply. If the pan I received is defective, then hopefully I can get a correct one, and I will revise my review. If the design of the pan I received is as they intended, then I'll find another brand. Either way, the one I received is not usable.Neutral: The handle is heat resistant according to the manufacturer's literature. This is true, but don't mistake that for not needing a pot holder or towel (It's definitely not like the handles on my Cuisinart MCP Pro set). However, it does not get hot enough to burn if you briefly touch it. This is good when you have several pots/pans on the stove.Positive: The pan seems to be very well constructed. The handle is riveted and it should not come loose. The non-stick coating works very well.Conclusion: My conclusion right now is that this is a very well made frying pan that has some design flaws.

Would buy again, but I don't know if I will need to buy another.Very durable, excellent pan. Heats well, cleans easily, excellent quality.Over a year of daily use, no issues at all.

We’ve gone through two ScanPans through the years so wanted something similar. Two chef friends recommended this brand for its durability and ability to control the heat and temp in the pan. I can perfectly cook eggs in this but also use like cast iron, searing meat and finishing in an oven. This thing is our universal pan for basically everything.

Ceramiguard II coating won't lasts more than a year of gently usage. Handle gets hot.

I like the interior shape and the weight of the pan. The non-stick is easy to clean, however my omelet didn't slide out, I had to use a spatula. The handle on mine is rough and the underside is open and not finished well. I find it scratchy and uncomfortable. I was okayed for a return, however it appears that the buyer pays all shipping costs. KaTom was not helpful in satisfying my complaints. I felt the pan was defective.

It is a great frypan. Professional but perfect for my kitchen. I expect this will work for me for several years. A great product and I did my research and looked around for quite a while. I'm very happy with this purchase.
