I bought this item after having tried many other garlic crushers and whilst they were all fairly good they certainly didn't press all the right buttons for me.This one is FANTASTICO!!!!It not only helps you crush garlic but you could crush herbs and more (although I haven't yet tried the 'more'Being 67 it's great exercise for your wrists and so much easier to clean.I had originally bought one of these at a cook shop whilst visiting a holiday town. I thought it was so good I just had to buy my sister one (who lived in France where garlic is the daily order of the day! ) and she loves it too.Definitely worth the money.

I was skeptical that this plastic-y looking thing would really be that great but thought I'd give it a go as I hate normal garlic mashers so always use a knife which doesn't get it all that fine.Amazing! I chucked in a few cloves of garlic *and* a 1cm chunk of fresh ginger and gave it a go - perfect! Beautifully mashed.There's a bit of disagreement about whether it's easy to get out of the masher at the end - I think this depends entirely on whether you follow the instructions or not. I first had a go without bothering with the instructions and had to pick it out with a fork. Hmmm. Dug instructions out of wastebin and noted the bit where it tells you to twist it gently back and forth at the end to separate the pulp from the teeth - ahah! It gathers the pulp into two neat triangles, free of the teeth and thus easy to slide off with knife, spatula etc that you probably already have handy. Washes easily by running under a hot tap with a dab of detergent or in the dishwasher.Big thanks to whomever designed this for taking us away from those dismal plunger-style nightmares that don't pulp it properly and are a nightmare to get the mashed mess out and wash it! And ginger too!

This is so easy to use and clean I have never returned to a garlic press. Works well with ginger too, if you cut it up a bit first.

How has this not made it's way into every kitchen? Easy to use, crushed garlic with little fuss. The only negative points are that the insert bit and te handle aren't perfectly joined and they let in water when washing. You can seperate them to let it out, but this also loosens the join, which can cause the crusher to slip a little when crushing lots of cloves at once. However, it still works well and still use it every time I crush garlic. In fact, I recently went on a self catered holiday and really missed not having it. I'll definitely take it away with me next time!

Very good even if it is a bit expensive. It works brilliantly well and makes garlic crushing a breeze. I had previously bought a Micro plane garlic crusher and what a faff - most of the garlic ended up in the dishwasher. This product just works with the minimum amount of fuss, you get the full amount of garlic out and it's a pleasure to use. The only downside is that the top has a hollow crater which always fills full of water in the aforementioned dishwasher.

Got it to compare with alternative product using blades. It's good, but I have kept the other one as if you are cooking in greater amounts and frequently need a lot of garlic processed the other one did the job better. The main advantage of this products is in the lack of blades making it a bit sturdier and crushing the garlic rather than chopping it. It is also its biggest drawback as it produces a lot of juice and is harder to operate.All in all if I didn't know about the alternative I would have been very happy, though in this case I believe you can do better.

This is the best garlic crusher I have ever used! Have had it for a year now and am buying them for birthday presents too. The clear one is best because you can see into it easily to determine whether you want it finer. An important tip: thump the crusher down onto your peeled clove which makes it really easy to peel and also softens the garlic a bit so the first crushing action is easier. Once you have done the crunching inside to desired size then position the crushed garlic away from the teeth into two little piles before opening and removing. Once you have that knack mastered you will agree that it is the best! I found that watching an online video of how to use it really helped.

A pleasure to use and easy to clean. I put an unpeeled clove on the chopping board and whack it with the device. That crushes it and makes peeling simple; I believe it also produces beneficial changes to the chemistry of the garlic. I then put it in the twist and mince it for whatever consistancy I require on the day. It crushes, minces, and Purées if you continue for longer. Very little garlic wasted. Great device. I wouldn't be without it. Hope this helps.
