It definitely has its place. If you want to get down to business and do some serious peeling, this one will do the job. It has plenty of heft, and that blade is no joke. On the other hand, although the blade adjusts, the gap doesn't get very small. I find myself taking more off the vegetables than I'd prefer. And make sure you dry it completely. The hardware is prone to rusting. Another reviewer mentioned replacing the hardware with stainless; probably not a bad idea, although I believe the manufacturer should have supplied that in the first place. Overall, I find the peeler useful, but there's room for improvement.

Wow, this peeler is really heavy duty. It is very substantial and it’s feel as well as completely stainless steel to provide years and years of repeated use. I do feel that the blade is a little bit too substantial for delicate vegetables or thin slicing. However, for industrial level commercial applications, I think this is perfect. It will also last many years because the blade is able to be removed and sharpened professionally in order to rejuvenate its cutting ability.

This is an excellent peeler for butternut squash or other thick skinned vegies. Its adjustable. Not for when you want to take the thinnest possible peel, I have an excellent peeler for that. This one is also useful for slivering vegetables for cooking.It would be 5 stars except for the screws that hold it together. They are cheap quality ordinary screws & nuts. The rest of it is stainless steel and appears to be good quality. But the screws that hold the blade rust after just one pass through the dishwasher. I'll replace them the next time I go to the good hardware store which has stainless hardware, but why do I have to?

The description of this peeler as “Heavy Duty” is definitely correct. This guy is a monster that removes a HUGE amount of material. I was expecting sturdiness, but this is also a beast at removing material because the blade gap is huge. If you peel a potato or carrot with it, you will have a lot of waste. For the carrot you may not have anything left at all. I have not used it for peeling a butternut squash but can see how it could be useful for that. Since we don’t usually peel such industrial grade items normally, this is of little use to me.

This is one heavy duty peeler.It have a good weight to it and feels solid to hold and use.The blade it sharp and cuts through real well.It is made well and feels very sturdy.I hope it holds up well over time.

It works. It is sharp and peels apples, cucumbers and carrots easily and quickly. It has a nice feel in the hand. While I almost never rate something in “value” categories, I do think the price on this is a bit high. Yes, it is a better quality than the peelers I already had, but then those have lasted decades. I’m 70 and if this is truly better, then it becomes an “heirloom peeler”? “ Hi Kids, daddy left you his car and this indestructible veggie peeler”.I still give it 5 stars as it works as it should.Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. This blade is beastly. I was nervous to use it but it's awesome. I'd get another or gift one to a friend or family member who loves to cook.

This vegetable peeler from Tliocas is heavy duty. You will want to use this for peeling squashes, melons, or similar. You will likely choose a lighter duty peeler for thinned skin veggies since this peeler does not really do thin. The biggest issue is the adjustment/fastening screws and nuts, they are not easy to adjust and they are so ugly. You may also see rust on this peeler as it is not fully stainless steel. The current price of $18 CAD would have been acceptable if they would fix the issues.
