Can you use resin pigment paste with this

yes, just not alcohol inks. the natural color is white and not matter what I've used to color it I always get a pastel.

What is tge wax for that comes with it?

the wax is a sealant, and protectant. it also gives a nice sheen.

Roughly how much resin can this make by volume? Or how much base would be needed to make like a cup of resin?

If you follow the directions it takes quite a bit to make a cup. I've made a few flowers pots that were really tiny and nearly finished the bag. Had to order more. It's a nice change from a resin pour but definitely not cheaper.

Should mold release be used to aid demolding?

It is always a good practice to use mold release when using a mold. It is also a good practice to spray your molds with mold release before storing your mold. It keeps them from drying out and makes them last longer. I hope this helps.
