Perfect at home/backyard composter
I gave my dad this composter for Father's day. He's a versatile dude, liking both outdoorsy things and tech. He can be a hard to get gifts for each year, but I nailed it with this. The double barrel composter is large, but they had smaller options available. This size is what I knew would work well for the amount of food scraps/waste my parents produce and the size of their backyard/patio. It was easy to assemble, and once assembled, it is sturdy. It has been in use for over 6 months now and doing great. The doors slide and seem sturdy, but are also simple. It isn't reasonable to expect they would walk outside in the cold winter months just to drop an egg shell in, so I got them a small counter top sized container with an odor proof lid to dump their scraps in and take out once a week once full. It hasn't been a full year yet, but they are planning to use the compost as soil when spring comes again. They are currently using one barrel for scraps and have put the other 'out of commission' to let to product decompose into soil. My dad loves it. It is low maintenance, he only spins it once a day or so when in the backyard doing other projects. He's excited to use the soil in his plant beds this spring and feels good not throwing useful scraps in the trash.

Compost Delight
Assembling was some what easy for the most part but I had to improvise to secure “nut” inside the black cylinder stuffing it with plastic wrap then placed a piece of duck tape at the end of round black cylinder to prevent the bolt “nut” from falling out of its compartment as I insert the screw to secure the screw & bolt “nut” to connect center bar so the compost can spin properly. No worries I completed it in a reasonable time. Stability is excellent. I will utilize on my balcony and so far I see no insects hanging around. Certainly do not want to attract rodents from unbearable odors. Seems to be great value for the money as far as the portability and the quality of materials of main compartment. Easy to rinse down as needed from what I can see. I added a little soil and compost accelerate to kick start the process. I’m new to this lifestyle and I am excited to be an active part of a community of this kind.

Good compost container
Ordered this as it seemed to be a pretty good size. It's smaller than I wanted BUT, the 2 separate containers actually will make it more productive compost process. I like that each side can lock into place. I am not sure the door is really strong but we'll see how it does over the winter. The directions were on my phone via a code. It was helpful for me, but I can see some people wanting a hard copy (you do have an option to print). Assembly was smooth and the 2nd barrel went much faster than the 1st. I thought everything was well labeled and straight-forward. After my last one broke, I did not want to spend a lot of $. I think for the value this should last a few years and that works for me!

Perfect Size for Small Family
When I purchased this unit, I debated between this size and one of the smaller single units. I did not want an oversized bin sitting in my backyard. After using this mid-sized dual bin for 6 weeks, I can say it is the perfect size for our small family. We feed it kitchen scraps daily and both bins still have plenty of space for more. Being able to rotate the bins helps to keep the food scraps composting at a fast rate. We started the compost process with some brown material from our yard and then feed it food scraps daily. You can see and feel the compost process as there is a good amount of heat in the bins. We plan to use the compost in our raised bed garden after composting is complete. Assembly is straight forward and took about 1 hour. The quality and sturdiness is good and I expect to get many years out of it.

3/5 for the tricky assembly instructions
I had one of those worm-migration compost systems but the worms all died, left for greener pastures or were eaten by the neighborhood skunk. So I needed a different system that could work regardless of worms. A tumbling one looked good so I ordered it. It seems much easier to dump your scraps into the door on the top and then later on, tumble the door to the bottom side and dispense the compost that way. The worm-migration setup was always kind of a mess. I haven't had time to check the composting abilities but the assembly was far from straightforward. For staters, the little black snapping things that you need to get the barrel put together are pretty flimsy. And I'm not exactly musclebound so if I can break them with little effort, they are far too weak. There are couple extras provided but they really need many more, since you can expect to break at least wo of them while you're figuring out exactly how much force you need to exert. Ditto for the screws. There should always be several extras, especially of anything small, because of course some will get lost in the chaos. The rest of the assembly was tricky too. It requires a lot of wriggling around of various plastic parts, and nothing really fits until everything does. One set of screws doesn't even fit its area properly but sticks out even after I've screwed it in all the way. How hard is it to send the correct size screw? The fact that there are no printed instructions and you have to access them online seems cheapskate. But they could have made up for it with a detailed video showing exactly how you manage the gymnastics to get the thing assembled. However once it was assembled, everything looked pretty nice and snugly fit. Just one of the green insert things keeps falling out because it doesn't fit right but that's a small issue. I just hope the earthworms are happy about how much trouble they've caused.

Wish I had not ordered
Wish I had not ordered. What a mess. Missing parts. Some parts are warped and will not snap together without two people fighting the pieces into position. Each tumbler has 60 snap-in slots and tabs. Some tabs were bent and would not snap in. No installation instructions with product. Enclosed flyer says "let's save some trees," find instructions online. Printing online instructions wastes as many pages as actually prints and - gee, printing from home does nothing to save trees....... The parts list does not name the part to help understand, and some of the pix are not clear. The printed instructions have no instructions - just pictures. EDIT****** Part K was missing, one of the pieces that holds the drums apart and allows them to spin separately. I emailed the company customer support shown on the product card asking that they send the part. This was 12 days ago and no response. I would never buy another product from this company.

For a first-timer, it took hours to assemble.
It’s taken me all day to assemble it. I’m a 78-year-old woman with decent mechanical skills, but it took hours. The printed instructions are difficult with only drawings. The online ones have color photos and words, which I needed. A video would have been extra helpful. I made only one mistake because of lack of clarity. It takes a lot of man-strength to get the 10 clips pushed into place, but I finally managed. It put some major scratches in my dark hardwood floor, so be careful. Looks dandy, spins as it should, and it seems like it will work.

Looks cute for a compost tumbler
It’s a basic tumbler with two chambers so you can start your compost at different times. To be honest, composting in the ground by burying the scraps works faster for me but I don’t have space in the garden to bury anything anymore. I don’t know how resistant the plastic to UV since I cover the whole thing all the time anyway. It also helps with keeping the compost warm. It comes in an unassuming flat box and the online instructions were easy to follow. I was able to put it together in less than half hour. The turning mechanism is smooth. Even at full capacity, it’s easy to turn the chambers to tumble the contains. The flaps aren’t easy to open so small children or animals wouldn’t be able to open them. I have no use for the lock mechanism that prevents the chambers from rolling but I tried it and it works. The holes in the chambers allow for air circulation but it also means that the compost juices will leak out. I put it on a patch of soil anyway so it’s not a problem for me but if you’ll do this on a patio or a balcony, put something under to catch the liquid. If you’re new to composting, just don’t forget to add some browns (cardboard, packing paper, dried grass or leaves) in there to prevent any smell.

Good for small family
Got a few reviews mentioning this is a bit small, but after using it for 1 month, I have not filled up half of one of the bin. So far, I am loving it. Ps. we are 2 person household, cooking daily.
