Merrell’s leadership in the barefoot category continues with the Trail Glove 7. Key updates include more natural foot positioning for a true minimalist feel, a Vibram® EcoStep outsole that wraps the foot to maximize grip and connection, and a minimal midsole made of FloatPro Foam™, our best midsole foam. Within the midsole, we also integrated our FLEXconnect® dual-directional flex-grooves for enhanced ground connection. Total stack height on these shoes is 14mm. Return to barefoot with the Trail Glove 7. Review: Amazing for dry hiking conditions. - Wow! Been wearing bearfoot style shoes for about 12 months now, but generally found them terrible for hiking as the rubber often low quality. These are a game changer! Today was the first time I've worn them, we hiked for 40km doing Cheltenham Three Peaks. Not a single blister, not a rub, nothing. My feet are tired and sore, but that is the distance. The first 25km felt like floating. They are so light and comfortable. My feet were feeling to floor and working to mould to the terrain, rather than juts plonking my foot down. The build seems pretty robust too and their grip on rock, scree, mud and grass was great. Excellent purchase. Review: Very Comfortable and Well-Made Minimalist Shoes - I’m very happy with my Merrell Men’s Trail Glove 7 sneakers. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box and fit true to size. The minimalist design feels natural and gives great ground feedback, while still providing enough protection for everyday use and light trail walking. The materials feel high quality, the shoes are lightweight, and they breathe well. I can wear them for long periods without any discomfort or fatigue. They also look good and are versatile enough for casual wear and outdoor activities. Overall, a great purchase. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for comfortable, minimalist footwear.

1 Year On Review - still love them.
I've had my Trail Glove 7's for about a year now. I didn't wear them over the winter but they have had heavy summer and spring wear, including being worn for work, outdoors for about 15k steps a day - the soles are still solid and grippy (not sure what people are doing to destroy theirs so fast), they're still comfortable and still don't smell... Even after whole days of work wear, my feet, knees and hips don't ache like they do wearing "normal" footwear. Can't rate these highly enough. Oh! And they literally fit like a glove. Comfortable from the first day with great flex and toe splay.

Extremely comfortable and your toes will love you
I used these shoes extensively over the last 3 months, and have been hesitating to write a review. I bought them at a massive discount and was expecting something to go terribly wrong. I hiked some very challenging mountain routes, took them on numerous leg days at the gym and drove around in them a lot. Initially, I noticed that the glue job was the worst I had seen in any of my other shoes, I could see blobs coming out from seams. But this seems to be cosmetic and not have affected the shoes. They are very breathable and have a wide toebox, very comfy. The sole is thin but doesn't hurt to walk on rocks in them. The zigzag pattern on the sole makes them rather grippy. I have since, for the first time with any of my shoes (and admittedly this might be my fault) experienced them "going off". They gained an unbearable smell, and I have just handwashed them and put them through a short and spinless washing machine cycle. They stopped for a few days, but have just began to smell again. Perhaps a soaking in a mild disinfectant would fix it, I don't know. As I've said, I've never had this happen before. Since the cycle, very fine threads from loops holding the laces in place have began coming off, but it's a minor cosmetic issue. Will try to update regarding their durability and function.

Excellent
I was looking for a long distance minimalist running shoe. I do a majority of my miles on trails and in vibram five fingers, but have been experimenting with other shoes for 20 mile runs and over. Did a recent 55 mile race in a pair of altra superiors and whilst they were ok, I found them a little heavy and inflexible. Have so far only run up to 11 miles in these trail gloves but cant see how there would be any issues with longer runs. You know shoes are good when you simply forget that you have new shoes on whilst you're running. I've had previous version of trail gloves but these seem more comfortable with a nice balance of protection and ground feel. Of course you don't get the same ground feel that you would with a pair of five fingers or vivos but if I'm out running all day, I don't want that level of ground feel. Have found the grips just about adequate on really wet muddy trails (as you can see from the treads, you're not going to get super grippyness in mud). Have run through deep puddles with them and the shed water pretty well. Overall, I really enjoy running in these. They offer a little bit of protection against sharp stones etc, whilst maintaining a zero drop, wide toe box, flexibility and being super lightweight. At the moment I think I'll be wearing these for my upcoming longer runs and maybe even 100 milers.

Sole wears too quickly not worth the money
Very comfortable but the sole wears out very very quickly. Had these 7 months and 3 months I didn't wear them as it was summer and I wore sandals. You can see from the picture that the sole on the heal has almost worn through. If the soles were much harder wearing I would recommend them. Otherwise they are very expensive for a shoe that lasts a few months.

great!!!!!
The Merrell Trail Glove 7 is a great product that excels as a durable, comfortable, and natural-feeling minimalist shoe.1. Durability and Construction (The Advantage Over On)Vibram EcoStep Outsole: This is the key to their durability and superior grip. Merrell uses a high-quality Vibram outsole (often made with 1$30\%$ recycled rubber) that features aggressive, yet versatile, 2$2.5 \text{mm}$ lugs.3 This tough rubber provides excellent traction on trails and holds up much better to wear than the cushioning elements of many competing lightweight shoes.Minimalist Upper: The shoe features a durable, 4$100\%$ recycled breathable mesh upper with strategic overlays.5 It’s built to withstand the scuffs and scrapes of the trail without tearing, addressing the exact issue you had with your previous pair.One-Piece Sole: The design of the Trail Glove 7 (unlike some older versions) uses a more integrated sole, reducing the points where the tread can detach or peel off, enhancing its longevity.2. Comfort and Performance (Barefoot Feel)Barefoot Feel with Protection: The Trail Glove 7 features a 6$0 \text{mm}$ heel-to-toe drop and 7$14 \text{mm}$ stack height.8 This low profile encourages a natural foot position and gait, strengthening your feet and providing excellent "ground feel" while still offering enough protection (via a Float Pro Foam midsole) to shield you from sharp rocks. Wide Toe Box: These shoes provide a comfortably wide toe box, allowing your toes to splay out naturally.9 This is a critical feature for comfort, stability, and reducing foot fatigue, especially over longer distances. Versatility: You can use them for trail running, hiking, light gym work, and all-day casual wear. They are lightweight, flexible, and dry quickly, making them highly versatile.

Good fit for women
Not a wide toe box, they should offer this in a wide being 'barefoot' shoes. I doubt these would fit men very well, as they naturally have a wider foot.. The women's size was even more narrow and ran very small, not true to size. Fits comfortable without socks, not very comfy with socks as the toe box isn't as wide as i'd like, we'll see how they last as I will be using on some pavement in which i've read many reviews that the soles wear down fast.
