Sony SRS-XB100 Wireless Bluetooth Portable Lightweight Speaker, Black

I love the sound. This little Bluetooth speaker cost me a little more than half a Benjamin and turns my smartphone into a respectable sound system. Plus, it’s compact, portable, battery powered (for approximately six to eight hours at high volumes w/quick recharge using the newest standardized rechargeable/data connection that has a small, rounded-rectangular “pill”-shaped reversible plug), waterproof, and incredibly drop-resistant. When I drop it, instead of worrying I tell myself, "Relax, it's a Sony, it will be fine," and it always is. This is actually my second one. I dropped the first speaker many dozens of times over the past four years (easily 50+) and it continued to play flawlessly. What finally pushed me to replace it wasn’t normal wear and tear. During a cross-town move from Brooklyn to Manhattan, I carelessly packed it in an open box. A sudden stop from the moving van bounced it out of the unsecured box, and a heavy table ended up resting on top of it. Amazingly, it wasn’t crushed or dented. The only issue was a slight decline in sound quality at higher volumes — the bass was no longer as clean. Considering what it survived, I was thrilled to find another one just like it for sale on Amazon. Because it’s affordable and so durable, I kept the original as a backup and bought a new one.

I really like this speaker. It’s very small/compact but has a very nice, high quality, clear sound. The Bluetooth connection is SUPER easy to use; I just downloaded the app and it connected immediately - no repeated set up attempts and no fuss! And the Bluetooth connection doesn't drop - even when switching back and forth between multiple phones/devices which is somewhat rare with these kinds of speakers. It has a strap with a "buckle" so you can strap it on to almost anything and it's also waterproof which gives me peace of mind since I'm using it in the bathroom to listen to while showering etc. It plays a LONG time on a charge but you can also keep it plugged in all the time with the easy to use USB-C port. It's not the loudest speaker in the world but given it's very compact size, I really wouldn't expect it to be and I'd prefer crisp sound over booming volume. I would NOT recommend this you are trying to find a speaker for a large room or to hear throughout multiple rooms but for smaller areas (like a deck/patio, a smaller bedroom, or a bathroom which is where I am using it), it's an incredible deal. I got it on sale during prime days but depending on the color and when you buy, I've seen it at or near the same low price since. I'm definitely happy with this purchase!

Nice little speaker. You're not filling a large room with sound with this little guy, but in a small space it's a great choice. I'm not an audiophile so I'm not going to try to describe the sound in any detail, but I'll say it's pleasant, full sound, and the battery life seems excellent.

Tested it side by side with rhe ULT 1. Item is good, but the ULT 1 is louder / has more bass. I would still recommend to someone on a limited budget, but they're getting what they pay for. I tested next to a busy road. Noticeably quieter than the ULT 1, but you can still hear it. Bass is definitely weaker than the ULT 1. All that being said, it is impressive for a small speaker. You can see the size difference in the photo. Definitely great for indoors, suitable for personal listening (right next to you) outside. You'll lose the sound 25-50 feet away from you outside though. Its a good deal under $40, I grabbed it for $33. Not worth it over $50. I picked the ULT 1 up for $78, just to compare. Ended up returning this one because I don't need both. Also, you can customize EQ on the ULT 1, but not this one. Sound is very clear, great for a small speaker, but max loudness is comparable to a phone on max volume rather than a portable speaker. Worth it if you want a speaker that is tiny and cheap, but if you're looking for great bass without the cord / bulkiness - consider the ULT 1. Btw, ULT 1 is a good deal under $100, don't pay over that for that one. But its legit worth it, if you're willing to pay about double the price of this one. Sound improvement isn't double exactly, but the bass and overall loudness are definitely noticeable. Final note - form factor, design, size, and build quality are great on both. You could feel comfortable using either inside or outside and both are light. 4 stars here instead of 5 because of the bass limitation and lack of EQ - keep in mind the bass is better than every other speaker at this price point (under $50), just can't compete with others under $100.

Quality made personal speaker, Bluetooth connects w/o complaint. Not particularly loud. Works fine on my desktop and headboard. Battery life seems good, but have not timed.

Works great as a replacement for car speakers. Fits perfectly in the center cup holder and sounds great. The one negative is the speaker will not operate if it gets over 90°, so not great for hot cars. Take it with you or keep it in a cool place when not in use.

Out of the box, it was . . . fine. I set it on my office desktop next to a computer and used it a couple of times to stream music from my iPhone and had no complaints about the sound quality. For a $50 speaker, it did what it was supposed to. Until it didn't. 8 days after I bought it, it decided to stop connecting to anything. Was no longer discoverable. Wouldn't pair with my phone any more. Tried to pair it with an iPad and a Macbook Air. Nada. Opened the stupid app that I had to download originally, and even that couldn't find this corn-studded turd of a speaker. Online support was just about useless. Went through everything and they recommended opening a warranty case with Sony and letting them inspect and/or replace. Why would i want to replace something that didn't even reach double-digit days before quitting on me? Besides, who knew how long that examination process would even take? I had my previous speaker (Timolabs Corbett from the long-defunct Massdrop site) for 8 years before it finally caved. It survived year after year of tunes in an outdoor, but heated, woodworking shop with air thick with dust, getting knocked over constantly. Still, it championed on. (Glad I bought two, so the second can live on out there.) The Sony SRS-XB100? Couldn't even hack it as an indoor office desktop princess. What a waste of time. Glad I found this out as early as I did. Save yourself a whole lot of aggravation and find a different speaker.

Diamond for Music Lovers!! I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker mainly for personal use and for home. My main priority was good music quality and decent audio and bass. And Song's SRS-XB100 fulfilled my requirements perfectly. Pros :- 1. Best sound , audio and vocal clarity you will find in this price range. 2. Very good battery life 3.Dust and Water Resistance Cons:- Though I don't have any cons as per my usage and expectations, but it may sound less loud and audio won't feel like blasting in the room and outdoors. I bought it at ₹2999 from The Independence Day sale. Who should buy it? Music lovers, especially and professionals looking for a small, handy and portable and easy to use bluetooth speaker Someone looking for quality of music rather than loudness, bass or that party vibe. Please avoid buying it if you are looking for that loud bass that boosts up the atmosphere, though it's bass is also very good, you won't be disappointed, but still don't consider it as a hard party speaker. Ideal for music lovers looking for usage at home and personal use.

Este parlantito es pequeño pero funciona muy bien, se empareja facil y rapido, tiene buen volumen, la calidad de audio es muy buena a pesar de que solo tiene un driver, el bajo tiene buena pegada sin distorcionar, los medios se escuchan bastante bien y los agudos estan controlados. Puedes ambientar una habitación o una sala, incluso una reunión de menos de 10 personas. Si deseas ambientar una fiesta en area exterior si debes buscar otras alternativas, para uso personal ya sea en area exterior o interior esta perfecto. Yo lo utilizo para escuchar musica y podcasts desde mi escritorio y wow de 10 el parlantito. NOTA para Audiofilos: En este tipo de parlantes el audio se escucha algo comprimido, hay mas ganancia en el Bajo y aunque esté controlado y no distorcione se mete mucho en las otras frecuencias, los medios estan regulares y los agudos estan redondeados. Ojo no es defecto, es una característica de este tipo de parlantes bluetooth comerciales no importa la marca, el tamaño o incluso el precio, estos estan enfocados para un disfrute musical diferente. Si buscas Hi-End en audio hay todo un mundo de monitores de estudio, DACs. Amps que puedes investigar que te van a brindar otra experiencia musical. Saludos desde MTY México.
