Lesche 1V_WWMFG-32-SER T- Handle Heavy Duty Metal Detecting Shovel with Serrated Blade

This was the best product I have purchased for metal detecting since my E-trac detector! I had my reservations about going with a full sized digging tool after using the standard trowel sized Lesche for many years. I got sick of wearing out my hands and arms. Blisters, rocks in my knees, ant bites, itching grass, bugs...that aggravation adds up! I looked all around the on Predator Tools website for the perfect model for me but I still held off for a long time. Before purchasing, I was worried about nearby people complaining because I had a 'shovel' where the smaller digging tool never caused a stir and I also worried about lugging the extra weight. These were non-issues for certain now that I have used this tool.I read the reviews here and decided to give it a try at this price. With Prime shipping this Lesche was over $30 less than a similar model I saw on their website (it wasn't exactly the same). I am very satisfied and now going into the field is an entirely different, and MUCH BETTER, experience. 90% of the holes dug required no going to the ground until the target was in sight. Huge back and arm saver! I went out today in the extreme heat and I dug at least 50 plugs. Almost all of them required only pressing the tool into the ground 4 or 5 times in a circle, popping out a perfect 5" deep round plug, re-locating the target with the coil, a stab or two with the Lesche and there your target is. Plugs go right back in with no hassle with a swing of the Lesche, give it a stomp, and you are on your way. Occasionally I still have to get in there with the pinpointer and dig around a little but not often.This thing is smaller and lighter by far than it seems online. I can not believe how feather light it is and how well it performs. I have a weak back so the hobby has its challenges for me. Not only is this digging tool very light but when I begin to tire from hunting this doubles as a sort of cane when I need a little breather. It digs like a dream with almost no effort. I can have a plug out and go another 3" deep for a total of 8" total depth in seconds while still holding the detector. The construction is top notch and this tool is not going to break or bend.Cannot recommend this highly enough for anyone who dreads the digging of targets after a few hours in the field.

I thought this was great at first but the first time I took it to a place with debrise in the soil....it bent backwards where the handle meets the shovel and also bent the tip. I beat the crap out if my hand held lesche for years but this didn’t even last a month. Looks like I could have made it in the garage with a welder and some metal.

I'm a newbie at metal detecting and the first shovel I bought was a $15 folding shovel that could barely dig in the ground. I upgraded to this shovel and the difference is like night and day. I couldn't find any of my targets with my old shovel and with this one I dug up my first target within about one minute. Stand on it and this thing will sink into the soil like a hot knife through butter. With 3 or 4 cuts you will have a perfect plug to replace into the ground. I can't really speak on the durability just yet as I've only used it a few times but it seems very well constructed and very strong, I couldn't feel any flexing. This shovel is a bit expensive but very worth it.

Awesome little spade that I've used primarily in my metal-detecting hobby. Tough enough to saw through roots and light enough to tote all day while swinging a detector. I'm using this primarily in a heavily rooted and rocky area and have had no problems cutting out plugs with relative ease and haven't given a second thought to the larger shovel I keep in my truck. It is short, but that also makes it very maneuverable and easy to use when kneeling. Would replace it immediately if lost or stolen, and haven't run into anything yet that would make me think it will break!NOTE: ** This is an ALL metal spade ** -- i.e., use caution around buried power lines -- and as other posters here have noted it would also serve well as an emergency self-defense instrument.

I did a lot of hands on research trying to find the best digger I could. From hand diggers, to this size. I'm very confident when I say that this is the one! You literally feel more powerful and lucky when you hold this shovel! It has a very solid construction, but is not heavy in any way. I definitely prefer the longer handle to the shorter one. I'm only bending down to use the pin pointer now, which is great. Then I use the back of the T handle to pound the plug back in. Huge improvement over any hand digger in my opinion. It serves all digging purposes well.I read in another review that it also covers you under the self defense category. That is also accurate... You will sleep better at night if this is within reach. You can spend the rest of the night reading reviews, but in my opinion you should stop here and get this shovel!

After buying this, I almost never carry a small digging tool anymore.This is good for pretty much all digging, and I can saw a clean circular plug in seconds.It can pry somewhat, but it's not intended to be a crowbar, as the tube steel is hollow (lightweight).As I don't carry a typical weapon in the woods, this is at least a basic form of defense too!

This is one of the best tools I have. Heavy duty wields good shape for cutting a plug. It has help me find alot of coins and rings.

Bought this for my husband who is a Metal Detectorist , he used it the day he received it and came home raving about it ! He says it cuts through the soil like a hot knife through butter. Its winter here and he said it cut through the frozen soil with very little effort. Its a fantastic tool !
