Which side is supposed to go up against your female parts--the colorful pattern or the gray bamboo?

The gray part goes up against you. That's the absorbent side. The colorful side repels liquid and you will not be a happy camper if you put that side up! 😉

Do you change them each time you go to the bathroom or keep the same one on all day? If you keep same one on all day, what about odor and bloodiness?

Use it like you would a disposable pad. Change it at least every 3-4 hours. It comes with a wet bag for storage of the soiled ones during the day. They are very absorbent and I believe would go all day depending on your flow but then there will be odor and it will not be hygienic.

I know this might be TMI, but how absorbent when you have heavy flow days with "clots"?

I change it like I would a plastic heavy flow pad. It's pretty good. I'd say it's close to super absorbent.

When the pad is worn, does it make it hot or moist down there?

I don't think so there a lot more breathable than disposable pads
