I've been a fan of the Turtles since 1986. I've watched the TV shows and movies and read the comics. Sure, this movie is arguably past its best, especially in the effects department, but it remains a great film and is true to the TMNT stories.

i have been trying to find this dvd for a while now as i had it on VHS and lets face it nobody uses those now!. I was a little shocked at the price considering its not a new movie but i did some digging online and discoverd its out of print hence the price tag. This was the only reasonably priced copy i could find on reigion 2 (UK) so i purchased it in fear of not being able to get it again. Lets face it the movie is still amazing after all these years and i can guarentee it will still be better than the remake Micheal Bay is planning on making. i would have given this movie a 5/5 if the price was a little lower :).

I dare you not to like this movie, l even dare you to say negative things about it?? you can't you know why because it's "BOSSANOVA" dude!!! l haven't seen this movie since l was a kid and my perspective of it was very memorable from the scenes the turtles reveal themselves, the entrance of villain Shredder and the exciting final fight on the rooftop. Seeing this movie today is like having an injection of nostalgia. No matter how corny the jokes are or how stereotypical the dialogue is this film is awesome. This movie is a perfect blend of the comics and the cartoon TV series as the whole atmosphere of the movie is dark and surrounded by corruption and crime (like Tim burton's BATMAN) but the turtles have the charm of the Cartoon series and they both work really well but it's also a great example of the 90s generation. For a movie done with puppetry suits they actually work well, Splinter looks absolutely awesome and the fight choreography in the battle scenes are well put together.The actors play their characters perfectly, sure their not gonna get awards for it but they do a swell job. Bottom line this movie is so underrated it puts most modern comic-book movies to shame and that includes your precious Dark Knight. Why because it's funny, well executed, faithful and most of all it's Entertaining. Now go watch this classic!!!

This film was massive in 1990 and is still a quality film today. More of a 'real life' and edgy feel to this film over the more childish style of the films 2 & 3. Turtles 1 is aimed at adults and kids and has a classic late 80s feel about it with action and humour thrown in. For any new fan or someone like me who was there in the begining in 88 this film is a must have to your collection!

Outstanding, made my week. Got to show my boy what his daddy grew up with thank you!

La mejor película que han hecho hoy de la historia de las tortugas ninja, apesar de que sea de 1990 no pierde su escencia y no hay persona que no le guste, en versión HD y con elementos extras exclusivos para está versión dónde tendrás olores de las escenas como si estuvieras dentro de ella

Non giudico il film che di per se p un capolavoro (secondo me), ma la qualità del DVD è ottima. p.s. attenzione questa è una versione Inglese e non c'è Italiano, io lo sapevo e l'ho presa apposta.

旧亀三部作の一作目は日本国内でなっかなかDVD化されなくてコレクションに空きがあるままでイライラしていたので助かりました。 普通に再生出来るし、字幕がないだけで簡単な英語だし何度も観てる映画だから理解に関して問題なし。 しかも、ジャケットが秀逸。 そう、こんなふうなシンプルなジャケットがいいんですよ。 DVDのジャケットは映画のオリジナル公開時のポスターをそのまま使っているのがベスト。 変に見たことないようなアーティスト写真を使われても違和感しかない。 そういう意味でも、このDVDはベストです。

A very good item that brings back childhood memories.

Kurz & Knapp + Top Regie + Top Cast + Top Synchro + Top Humor + Top Kostüme (Highlight) + Gute & witzige Dialoge + Gute Kämpfe + Kurzweilig +/- Kampfgeräusche nerven etwas (Deutsche Fassung) Info: Die Blu-ray ist ein Witz! Das Geld hätte ich mir sparen können und weiterhin von meiner DVD gucken können. Man sieht das es nur hochskaliert ist und NULL bearbeitet. Die Bildqualität ist echt mies und schwankt im Film ständig von ok/gut zu mies/körnig. Ich hoffe die Filme bekommen mal ein richtiges HD Remaster. Sie hätten es verdient. Fazit: Was ein Highlight aus meiner Jugend!!! So oft gesehen damals. Die Kostüme sehen immer noch grandios aus. Nicht zu vergleichen mit den neuen CGI Filmen die einfach null Charme haben. Nach langer Zeit mit einer Freundin wieder geguckt und es war ein Nostalgie Highlight. Das einzige was mich heute etwas nervt sind die Ding Dong Kampfgeräusche in der deutschen Fassung. Als Kind fand ich es witzig und passend. Heute wünschte ich mir es gäbe eine Deutsche Synchro Fassung ohne diese Geräusche. Im Original ist das nicht.
