A wonderful find!
My wife broke her ankle. This chair was essential to helping her deal with the steps in and out of the house. A wonderful find!

Six stars if I could give it that many
This lift is little short of a life saver and I do not say that lightly. My wife falls all-to-frequently. I am unable to pick her up easily. It can take 30 or so minutes to get her upright once again. I have on occasion needed to call 911.Move her if possible to a space about 3 people wide or more. Position the lift beside her. The backrest will be down at about a 30 degree angle. Lower the side ramps. Push the lift as close to her hips as practical. Have her roll her hips onto the lift platform. This is a bit tricky if it is just you but doable. I have to support her shoulders as she scoots sideways a few inches. With her back now supported move her hips back towards the backrest. It seems sufficient if you can get within a couple of inches.Plug in the controller/ battery if you have not already done do. I marked the plug with two black lines 90 degrees apart to make this easier where lighting is poor.Holding down the up button will first raise the backrest then slowly lift her into a normal sitting position. Done. The only small criticism I have is the charging light is on the power supply rather than the controller. I use a bungi cord to keep the lift compact for storage. I also unplug the controller to conserve the battery against accidental discharge. I am not certain this is necessary. All the best.—————I have used this lift 4 times now. Another way to use it is have the patient roll on their side into a fetal position if possible. Lower the ramps and place it such that the hinge is aligned with the tailbone. Gently push the ramp under the patient to the degree practical. Have the patient roll toward the lift, lifting their back just enough to clear the lift back. A little scooting of their bottom will position them safely on the seat. Raise the lift while holding the patients hand for steadying support.

Chair lift
This works and is sturdy. I wouldn't put bath tub. My mom likes it. And she's 84 and can use it.

Great to have when you need it.
My wife has had 4 falls over the last 5 years. Each time, it took a massive amount of effort to get her back on her feet. This item is great to have available should this happens again. I would give this purchase 5 stars except for the two issues encountered.First: the initial delivery only included the top half of the item without the base, controls, charger, or instructions. To their credit the seller responded to my inquiry within a few days and shipped a new complete unit.Second: the product listing pic indicates a seat cushion covering the seat and its wings, which helps eliminate potential "pinch points" in the gap between the seat and wings. However, the item I received did not have the seat cushion covering the wings.

It WORKS!
This product is a must, as an aid for falls. It was easy to put together, even though some of the instructions were not very clear. I've had it for a couple of months and only recently had a fall that required assistance for getting up.The hardest part was getting up on the chair seat. You have to be able to raise up your backside far enough to position yourself on the seat of the chair. It is about 4 inches up from the floor, when you first move onto the chair. A small ramp would have made it easier to move yourself onto the seat in the down position. When you get on the chair initially, the back is tilted at an angle so you can lean back and pull yourself onto the chair. Once I was on the seat, it was very easy to start the lift and the chair back moved to a 90 degree angle to support your back. It took a couple of minutes for the chair to be in the full up position. At maximum height, it is equivalent to the height of a kitchen chair. I was able to easily stand and walk to a safe chair with minimal assistance. This lifting chair is amazing, it required some effort to get onto the seat in the down position, but once there, I felt secure. The lifting is very quiet and slow by necessity. When not in use, it sits out of the way in my office. It is very portable, holds a charge well. This is one of the fastest ways I have used to help get me off the floor. Not as much fun as the fire department crew, but less embarrassing. Even if I don't need it but once in a while, this is the best tool I have toward remaining independent.

This Chair Worked Great for My 84-year Old Mother
I purchased this for my 84-year old mother who occasionally falls and cannot get up without assistance. I am not able to lift her myself, so I had a lot of hopes for this chair. It works great! We just used it last week. All she had to do was scoot over into the seat, and I pressed the "up" button on the control. It slowly raised her to a normal sitting position, and she was then able to stand up. The chair weighs about 30 pounds. It's a little awkward for me to carry (I'm 5'4") but I can lift it and take it up and down the stairs. I'm so glad we found this product! It's given both of us some much-needed peace of mind.

Totally disappointed thing broke after first use
I bought this a month ago thinking that it would help me get from the floor to standing. I’ve been falling quite a bit today. I was gonna try to use it and the back broke and they tell me it’s out of the window for a refund, which I think is insane Because I’ve never even used the darn thing and it’s very expensive for somebody that’s handicap so I am thoroughly disappointed and would not recommend this and I really want to hear from the seller, but I couldn’t get the darn conversation to work

Never be without it again !
As leg amputee above the knee, there are times when I mistakenly wind up on the floor. This lift chair easily brings my 240 pounds back to wheelchair transfer height. The phrase, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” does not apply to anyone using this chair. There is almost nothing to assemble for this all plastic chair and the quality is good.
