Perfect entry level smartwatch that's comfortable to wear and looks nice.
I really like this watch. This is my first smart watch. When I first got the watch I couldn't use it because the app wasn't compatible with my phone. Android version 8 was too old. You cannot use the watch for time function without the app, since time cannot be set manually and must sync through the app. So after a couple of months I did some more searching online and found an older version of the app that allowed me to connect the watch and finally use it. I wished I would have done this sooner. I like the round face much better than the more common square. It's comfortable, looks good, it's sleek, durable, and functions well. Battery life is very good. I wear it 24/7 and only need to recharge it once a week. Charge time is minimal, maybe an hour or so. It has only the most basic info and functions, which is good for a first time smart watch user. Which makes it easy to set up and use without having to get involved with learning and inputting information. After 3 months of use now I am very satisfied with the overall performance of the watch. I also have a good idea of what other functions I could utilize and others that I would like that are not available on this watch but are on other more expensive watches. For the price of this watch it is a great value and I have recommended it to a couple of friends.

Nice looking watch, but it has its challenges
I first chose this BENIO Eagle smartwatch, because I liked how it looked. I thought that the straps were brown. When I opened it up, I was surprised to see that the straps were actually a light burgundy instead, which I didn’t much care for. It also came with a set of black straps as well. Neither of the straps came attached. The pins are very tiny, and it was too difficult for me to align them with the correct holes it needed to go into. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get either of the straps attached to the watch. I will now need to bring it to a jeweler to see if they can attach it. Until then, the only way for me to use the watch is just to keep it in my pocket. The package also included a USB charger, that has magnets at the end to charge the watch. It charges fine, but you need to be careful in making sure the watch connects correctly to the charger. The magnetic charging attachment is not very strong. A slight movement can disconnect it,It uses the same app as another Benio watch I have. Unfortunately, I don’t find their app very user-friendly. There are a lot of functions that this watch can do, probably more than I need, or can figure out. The step counting program is the most important function for me. I am disappointed because the counts have been considerably off when I compared them to my Fitbit watch. In testing this, I have the Fitbit on my wrist, and keep the Eagle watch in my pocket. I believe that the watch should still be able to pick up on my movements while keeping it in my pocket. It is possible that the numbers would be more accurate if I wore it on my wrist. Once I get the straps attached and can wear it on my wrist, I will see if the numbers are closer to what shows on my Fitbit watch. If that happens, I will update my review.

You have to download a Chinese app and set up an account to even set the time.
In fairness the watch itself looks nice. It advertises a decent set of features, and has a nice screen. I don't like that it uses a charger that isn't universal, but I can get over that. The one thing I can't get past is that you can't do ANYTHING with this watch, not even set the time, without downloading an app from a developer in China. At the time of this writing, the app has very few downloads and no reviews on the Google Play Store. Even so, I absolutely refuse to take the risk of downloading a sketchy app onto my phone even if it had reviews. But you can't just download the app and make it work either, you also have to sign up for an account with the watch manufacturer to make the app work. And without the app, you can't even connect the watch to your phone with Bluetooth to try it with you phone's built-in wearables apps. None of this is disclosed on the listing. It tells you that there is an app with these features, but none of the requirements or limitations were listed when I ordered it.No thank you! That is way too many red flags to me. If you could set the time on the watch itself without connecting it to the phone, or if it would connect it with other reputable open-source apps then I would rate it more highly. But as it is, I feel like the person buying the watch is actually the product being sold.
