ONE YEAR UPDATE: Fantastic product! Winch is performing exceedingly well. I've done a couple hard pulls while offroad and not a hiccup. I did change out the synthetic line to a different color (personal preference). Haven't charged the remote in a while and still works from 90 feet away. Original review: This is for the 13,500 pound rated Rugcel winch (sold by GRIPWAY). I've been researching alternatives to the high end, super expensive winches, (which over the years have declining reputations), and Rugcel had been on my radar for at least a year - mostly in the 10,000 pound range. Due to previous recent, very positive reviews I did not hesitate to acquire this 13,500 pound winch for my SUV. Upon initial inspection, this winch appears to be excellent quality and while I cannot yet test it (edit - now tested!) I will update my review soon - when my winch mount/bumper is ready. Going with the synthetic rope on this winch (instead of metal wire/rope) is a huge safety plus and one of the reasons I chose it. Less chance of causing a catastrophic failure and put someone in peril. I might remove the metal hook and the loop too. And re-thread it so it's ALL "soft" and use soft shackles only. More to come but anticipating an excellent winch.

The way the hook is designed it doesn’t allow it to thumb to close on a 3/4” shackle which is 9500lbs or a 7/8” which is 14,000lbs. Your have to use a smaller shackle or buy a different winch hook. Doesn’t make sense to buy a 13,500 lbs winch and use 7.000 lbs shackles

This heavy duty RUGCEL 7.2hp 12V wound motor with 13,500lbs pull rate, small but powerful winch is a high quality and well made winch packed with lots of features. This RUGCEL is sold by GRIPWAY I won't think any of it just let the winch talk for itself. I'm still waiting to mount it on to my Wrangler (will update), for now looks like the winch has all the goodies, I love the synthetic rope way over the metal one, nice steel shell, wired and wireless remote control and the pull type clutch control are all good stuff and can't wait to test this bad boy.

Comes packaged really nice, you have to bolt on the the control module and then hook up the battery cables. I got this for my car hauler to retrieve dead trucks and works really good. 13,500 pounds might be little overkill for a trailer mounted winch but it does the job flawlessly, controls are pretty straight forward and easy to use.

This hasn’t seen any real use yet. I don’t want to degrade it just to give it a true test. It was easy enough to hook up to a battery before install just to make sure that it functions. My husband said install was easy enough and didn’t take too long.

We have not had an opportunity to actually use this winch yet but it appears to be well made. My husband said he needs to order something to mount it to his truck. He likes the synthetic line and remote. For the money, he was impressed with the quality. Will update once he is able to get it mounted.
