Nostalgic Fun for a New Generation. Just Wish It Had a Pause Button!
I bought this Tamagotchi for my son, and he absolutely loves it! What a blast from the past I grew up playing with one myself, and it’s so special to see my child now enjoying the same classic toy. It’s fun, engaging, and teaches a bit of responsibility, which is great. However, one downside is that there's no way to pause the game. As a young child, my son sometimes forgets to take care of his Tamagotchi, and he gets really sad when it "leaves *_*" I wish there were an option to pause or put it on hold, especially for younger users who can’t monitor it all day. Pros: Nostalgic and fun Great for kids Encourages responsibility Cute and engaging gameplay Cons: No pause feature not ideal for younger children who can’t always keep up Overall, it’s a wonderful toy that brings back great memories and creates new ones. I would definitely purchase again!

OG tamagotchi!
While the new tamagotchis are fun, the OG will forever be a favorite and I appreciate its simplicity. This shell is super cute and very durable, no issues at all!

Very fun to play with BUT teaches responsibility harshly... 10+
So it was very fun to play with, it's like a little digital pet you have to take care of. It beeps when it needs something. SCROLL DOWN IF YOU WANT A SHORT HELPFUL GUIDE ON HOW TO CARE FOR IT :) vvv WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR/TIPS & TRICKS: - A button is the button on the left. B button is the button in the middle. C button is the button on the right. - If it isn't taken good care of, the pet will 'die' aka it flys back up to its home planet. You can get a new one if you reset but it isn't the same pet and if your kid is below 9 they will most likely become distraught over it dying - If you feed it too many snacks (the cake) it will die before it turns into a teenager! You can feed it the burger only. - If it isn't disciplined or played with enough or it's weight is too high it will grow up to become an unattractive bad mannered alien. - When it needs something, it beeps. You can silence it (although that is the #1 leading cause of tamagotchi deaths) but if your children go to school then you need to take care of it while they are at school, unless you want them to be checking their tamagotchi every 10 minutes or having it beep. If they are in middle school or higher, then they can put it on their backpack and check it between periods/at lunch time. - Discplining it is clicking the button with the little head that's speaking/yelling. If it beeps even though its hunger and happiness is full, you need to click that button to discipline it. The more you discipline, the less it will beep when not needed which is what we want. You also need to discipline it if it refuses to eat when hungry or play when unhappy. - HERE'S HOW TO PLAY THE GAME: When you click the play button, a number will appear on the left. If you think the number on the right (there is no number on the right YET) will be higher then it, click the B button. If you think the number that the number on the left will be higher then the number that will appear on the right, click the A button. - All the responsibilities might seem a little stressful, right? But as your tamagotchi grows up, it will become less maintenance. - It will eventually die of natural age LUCKILY things you can do to increase its lifespan are: - Keep in tiptop shape. My rule of thumb is even when it doesn't beep, check every 10-15 minutes. If a heart is gone for HUNGRY or HAPPINESS play with it or feed it! - Play with it. As much as possible. Not a lot but I'd recommend 30 minutes of play total a day. Playing with it also keeps its weight down, and the more it weighs the less it'll live :( - Only discipline when necessary!

such a pretty one!!
i have two original gen 3 connections from when i was in elementary school (2004?), along with two m!x’s (2016?), all four of which still work… but when i saw this specific one (the translucent blue with gold stars!) i HAD to have it! it works great, besides buttons occasionally not working (needing to be pressed twice for it to register). it’s a simple tama, only one game (guessing if a number will be higher or lower than the one shown, from 1 to 9, a being lower and b being higher) but it’s really cute and i’m happy. i probably won’t be keeping it active for a long time, and i always take out the batteries if im not going to be playing so it doesn’t get icky, so i expect it should last. i think the only thing im worried about is if the painted design will last, and if the buttons continue to work. i REALLY hope when they release the new connections, that there will be some similar to this in shell design! because i love my connections still and i would be SO happy to have more (and i wonder if they’ll be comparable with the old ones?? that would be awesome) i love my m!x’s but they’re only in japanese and the design isn’t quite as good (they’re just bigger mostly, and require either AA or AAA batteries rather than button batteries..) so i’m really happy to have a new one for the excitement (also $20 is significantly better than the $60 i paid for EACH of my m!x’s…) and i hope to get new connections too.. i think the only thing they could do to make a shell cooler than this one would be to have it glow in the dark! genuinely so happy to have this! i might have to buy another so i can have a display one and one that i don’t have to worry about feeling bad if i damage it…. UPDATE-first try and i got mimitchi!!
