I would try them anyway if your son has heel pain, maybe with a thicker sock/larger boot. My son has been wearing them for 18 months, since he was 10 years old but he was then a size 5. He is now a size 7 and they still fit. He plays football, rugby and sometimes hockey and whilst they do not eliminate heal pain they help enormously. He uses Nike sock boots which keep the heel cups in place more securely. These are expensive but worth it. Recovery time between matches is important and the surface he plays on makes a difference too. Soft ground or 3G astro turf is much easier on the feet. Regards. Brian M.
