Throughout the seasons, songs, verses, poems, riddles, fingerplays, games, creative drama and movement, watercolor painting, handcrafts, healthy recipes and gratitude for life that rekindles a sense of wonder are keynotes of this Smithsonian Notable Children's Book (Nov. 1997, Vol 28, Number 8) Having been chosen as the first book in the Hearthsong Family Library (1996), Waldorf Education has grown tremendously and with the surge of home schools, charter schools, pre-schools and daycare centers, quality curriculum that is child-centred to help counteract the influences of TV and technology on the very young is imperative. This newly published edition has been up-dated with more writing and all illustrations by the author, a conversion chart for the recipes to "translate" world-wide, and the promise that at home or at school, this book will bring joy into the process of learning, both for children and for the adults who are involved with them on a daily basis. The Education Edition is printed on a lower quality print stock to make it more affordable but is otherwise identical to the Premium Edition. Review: Very good! Very good! Waldorf poems, songs.
It’s a great resource for waldorf kindergarten and first grad verses. It’s got seasonal poems, songs, crafts, and lovely art to give ideas for your chalkboard. There are also some recipes and a couple stories.

Love all of the seasonal acrivities
This is a really cool book to get ideas for seasonal activities to compliment your lesson plans! LOVE this book! It’s a great resource for parents and children alike.

Amazing...just what I was looking for
I am very happy with this book. My kids love the little poems...they are easy to read...some are short (great for my 2 and 4 year old) and some are longer. There are songs recipes a s crafts. I just love this book so much!!

Well used
I bought this book as a way to make homeschool more creative and fun. It has definitely been a special part of our day. The children love the songs and poems and they like to memorize the poems in this book as a fun activity. The crafts and recipes are also wonderful and they try to play the songs on the piano that are provided. The cover of this book is soft and feels like great quality. We use this book everyday and have for the past 2 years and it's still in good shape. I recommend this book to anyone with children between the ages of two to nine

Cookbook inside?? Whats that?? Aaaah, starting on p. 153...
Very nice collection and good ideas for your time with children. BUT: I didn't know (and I have no clue why) there is a cook book included on the first 153(!) pages! So half of the book is a different book that I don't want to have at all. I also read that this edition is printed on lower quality to make it more affordable, actually I hope that I will have it in my hands quite often so I am thinking about sending it back and getting the higher quality version (without the cookbook hopefully!) Still four stars for the content of the actual book, minus one for the confusing cookbook inside.
