Slow storyline

It evolves to the stories we have here.COWBOY AND THE CAPTIVE—Book 1 started off with literally a bang. Melina's twin sister is ruining her life by making people believe she is Melina and tearing apart her life and her family’s. Maria nearly got Lucas Jardin/Luc killed in the shoot-out two years ago and now he is back for revenge. Melina took the blame for that shoot out. Now her father is trying to get her accept the blame for something her sister did again but Melina swore she never would accept blame for something her sister did again, especially after she almost died last time. Joe, Malina's brother gets wind of his parents plan and comes up with an alternative plan to save his sister’s life. Joe became friends with Luc after that first incident with Maria went down so Joe uses Luc's hatred of Maria to save Melina’s life. He doesn’t bother to tell him who is actually saving. Luc kidnaps Melina and that’s when the fireworks really get going. The chemistry between Melina and Luc is instant. You can tell Luc isn’t too sure what is going on but he can tell something is off, different. The romance is brewing and Melina has always had a soft spot for Luc. She has loved him and her despair over what her parents and her twin sister, over what they were doing and did to her really is terribly sad. This was a great story and I loved the outcome. I don’t want to give too much away but there is some fantastic action. The ending was full of twists and turns. My rating: 4.9 starsCOWBOY AND THE THIEF- Book 2 is the story of Luc’s friend Jack. We met him in book 1. This is the story of how he met his Angel. Part of this story takes place in Ireland and has a bit of Irish folklore. Jack is a bit of a rouge and Angel is somewhat priggish but how they meet and fall in love is the beauty of this story. It involves this necklace and Angel’s family history. I enjoyed the story and the only thing was I wished there was some follow up of how they were doing as a couple.. overall it was a good story. My rating : 4.5 stars

This is an anthology of two separate novellas that have overlapping characters although the stories are separate.COWBOY AND THE CAPTIVE: Melina is the "good" twin who is constantly seeking her parents approval in the face of their preference for the "bad" twin who is always in trouble. Now Melina has been kidnapped by Luc Jardin who is seeking revenge against Melina's twin -- and doesn't realize that Melina is not her.This is a very sexy story. I enjoyed the relationship between the main characters, but I have to admit the story of Melina being intimidated to taking punishment in place of her sister is a thin story in a modern context. I also was a bit annoyed with Luc in his continued willful ignorance of Melina's identity.  I wish he had had to grovel more for his treatment of Melina. But this was a quick and easy read.Rating: 3.5 stars.COWBOY AND THE THIEFAngel Manning is furious when the family heirloom that is supposed to lead her to the man for her is sold by her father to Jack Riley. She is determined to get back what is her destiny and certainly has no intention on becoming attached to a playboy like Jack. She's been that way before and knows to protect her heart.This story felt a bit disjointed and I never really became attached to the characters. For me, I felt there was something missing in their interaction and not enough drama. I didn't feel the emotional connection and even the sexual tension wasn't that exciting. I certainly didn't think that this book was as good as the first in this anthology.Rating: 2 stars.NOTE: I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in order to provide a review. Loved both stories,Luc and his love was a love all women would love. Jack and his love was really exciting, I've loved all Lora Leigh's books, could not pick a favorite if you haven't read her books yet grab one you will be glad you did.Keep them coming

Anything Lora writes is a winner...Had read both of these books before... but it's been some years. So I bought the 2 in 1 book. Still just as sexy and fun to read. I recommend this book..Kudos Lora!😁

I ENJOYED THE TWO STORIES A LOT. THE CHARACTERS WERE INTERESTING AND DREW YOU IN. LORA LEIGH IS AN EXCEPTIONAL AUTHOR. THIS IS ANOTHER GOOD BOOK TO READ.

Not as appealing as some of Lora's other books.

1 - COWBOY AND THE CAPTIVEA good fun and gripping read about a mistaken kidnapping and revenge. Though there is some humour in this it also has a bit of darkness.Great characters and I hope the brother Joey will get his book too one day.Really cannot understand the parents in this and how blinded they were to Maria's problems and actions. They don't deserve either Melina or Joey in their lives. Just worried Melina will allow them near their child. Boy not a good thing to do.I have read and reviewed this book many years ago in a two book set with another author. I liked it so much I grabbed it as a solo. My previous reviews are missing.I notice both books 1 & 2 are now in a book together but I do not know if they have been updated.2 - COWBOY AND THE THIEFThoroughly enjoyed this story about Jack, the partner who we met in Cowboy and the Captive.You do not need to have read book one first but it will help a bit.Loved the meddling father and the whole premise of this story, a real read to the end book.A special necklace brings these two together again when Angel tries to steal it back from Jack.You will have to read this to understand but trust me, it is a great read.Have owned these books for years and have previously reviewed but they are missing.I was very pleased to see these two are now in a book together RUGGED TEXAS COWBOY, so I had to grab it for easy rereading.
