1 YEAR LATER UPDATE 2-18-19: LUV this light! I have it outside in the pole light at the end of the driveway. I absolutely love that the light can be set to turn off and save energy which saves me money, as well as the fact I never have to go out to the post to change the bulb color depending on the holiday! I just sit here at my desk and change from everyday white to Valentines day pink! Or St. Patricks day green! Or Christmas Blue! So far it has withstood the extreme temperature swings and polar vortex we had! Recommended bulb!Original: I like it pretty well. But be assured that these in no way, shape or form are equivalent to 60w bulbs. 50w tops. Going to keep the 2 we bought because they are a cool novelty [Alexa, turn on 'Love Shack' and they both come on in Crimson (pinkish-red) and the mood lighting is set! LOL] but beyond that, that, they aren't as good as regular LED bulbs.

So far so good.The light is a bit cool (high in the kelvins) for me, and probably more equivelant to a 40-watt, or 50 watt bulb than a 60 in my opinion.App set-up was easy, and Alexa set-up was easy as well. Through the app, and Alexa site you can give it a unique name.You can make commands like: "Alexa...""... Turn on [name]", "... [name] red""... [name] fifty percent"However, you can't do more than one status change like "Alexa, [name] red, fifty percent".Otherwise, it seems to be pretty decent for the price and maybe we'll see some improvements down the road, though I'm not sure it can do any firmware updates to the bulb itself, so it may just have to be what it is.

I have bought 3 of them and at first they worked fine. However once I moved and got a new router, none of the lightbulbs will connect using this new router. The router is better than the older one however for some reason won’t connect. It’s 2.4ghz so idk. Also I know how to connect it so no tutorial needed. I follow the instructions and am able to get the lights to blink. But they will never connect to the same network. Phone is on same network so I don’t see why it won’t work. I have the smart life app and still won’t connect. How can I reset the bulb? maybe it will connect to the new router. Does it link itself to previous router signals? Now that I am using a new router, is that why it doesn’t work? I’ve tried everything with no luck and am disappointed I can’t seem to find a review or answer on the internet regarding this issue. Like I said at first they worked great but now I can’t get any of the 3 to connect. And even when I plug them in, they are all stuck in pairing mode so I can’t even use them as a light because they won’t stop blinking. Spent good money on these and am bummed I can’t use them.

So I was finally able to set this up in AP mode and it does work. I think this was a lot more difficult than it should have been. I’m not all that versed in network security either so it “feels” like it could be sketchy.Edited 1.30.19: This is pretty much junk. A few days after set up it disconnected completely from the network (leaving the light on all day). I’m not bothering to even try and reconnect this. Just not worth it at all. Ide recommend paying extra somewhere else for a better quality product.

They work, they offer different colors. For that, I can't complain too much. But the white light choices are terrible, the color wheel is a joke when you start to mix in brightness, and the "moods" are way off base. Romance? Eh, blinking red lights. Nothing like "self destruct sequence initiated" going on overhead while you sweet talk bae into some night time sensual feeling. I give these a bad rap. I do. I have 4 that I use every day, but THAT'S BECAUSE I NEEDED 4 TO EQUAL 2 40 WATT LIGHT BULBS. I'd return them if I didn't waste my time trying to kid myself, but I'm not distraught that I have them. They serve the purpose, just if I could do it again, I'd spend some more money on a real smart bulb kit.

This is a nice bulb for those starting to get into the smart tech world. However they are very dim. Not at all comparable to other LED lights. Therefore if you are using these make sure they are all the same for the same room. Otherwise some LED bulbs will be much brighter than this Smart LED bulb. Overall I use it in my bedroom and since its the only light, it works okay. Probably wouldn't buy another though for myself personally.

Bought this for our Echo Dot wth the intention of using in a bedside lamp. It works great as that. The number of colr choices and brightness levels is fine.I rate it as only a four star product because it does not provide the level of brightness that may be desired for other uses. As a bedside lamp, it is great. But I cannot imagine using it happily in an area that would use a standard 60 watt equivalent LED bulb....
