Once assembled, does this need to remain assembled, or can it be broken down for storage?

Needs to stay assembled. Doesn’t fold/breakdown any smaller

what does simplified packaging mean

I believe it means less waste / cardboard. plastic etc.

Can i order more little people cars for the car set? Are the "around the neighborhood" car set interchangeable?
