Easy to use and clear picture
This is not your typical electrical diagnostic type scanner tool. We have several diagnostic tools that we use on our project cars but all of them are a bit complicated to use and take several hours of reading then a few more of trial and error. Downloading apps, updating software and dealing with software glitches makes me think twice before using them. I would rather take the motor apart and see for myself what I can find. This Endoscope could not be easier to use. It comes with a partial charge so you can have this down into a cylinder in about 30 seconds after opening the box. It is perfect for so many other projects besides my cars. Small engines, plumbing and even HVAC projects are getting done faster and better. Nothing fancy but seems to be pretty rugged. I have dropped it several times and keep it in a drawer with other small tools. So far so good. I am now thinking of an upgrade but really no reason to. This does exactly what I need it for and it was a great value considering the promotion at the time. The line is fairly rigid but it needs to be to get to where you are going. Great engineering. Just take your time and this tool will get to the source of the issue.

This is a really nice quality tool at a nice price-point - lets me see between engine and firewall.
I had a situation where the oil-pressure sensor/sending-units on both of my Chevy V-8 vehicles failed within two weeks of each other. The first one I replaced, I did "blind" by working by feel since there's no way to directly see the sensor behind the intake air plenum and the fuel rails, etc - that was the 8.1L - it wasn't easy to find and get the old part out and getting the new part back in was worse. Then I got to the 6.0L - it was somehow even tighter quarters, even with the smaller engine. My hands are relatively large, and I had trouble getting my hand/forearm in to get to the sensor on the 8.1 - the 6.0 was even tighter, so I ordered this tool. Now I'm wishing that I had gotten this scope before swapping out the sensor on the 8.1L - it made it so that I could see exactly where the sensor was, see the locking-clip on the wire connector to get that loose easily, and then get the socket onto the sensor to remove it. Then, getting the new sensor threaded in straight was MUCH easier by using scope - could see exactly where the port was to get it lined up. The LED light at the camera end is nice and bright and has multiple brightness levels in case things are too reflective in the space you're using it when on full power. The battery life seems really good too - I had it turned on for about 1 hour to do that job with the LED lights on full-power, and the battery-level still says it's at 100%. This scope is much nicer than ones that I had used in the past - due to the longer cable, you can set up the screen somewhere stable and where you can see it easily, and then fish the camera in where it needs to be without disturbing the position of the screen. Even in the bright midday sun, the screen was plenty bright for me to see in the shade of the open hood. I did make one minor modification due to previous experience with other scopes - I took a paint marker and put a white stripe on the camera housing to indicate the "top" of the lens - makes it easier to fish the camera into places in the orientation that you want - that's what I show in the third picture. I like this scope much better than the Milwaukee scope I had bought years ago - this one has a MUCH better and larger screen, and a MUCH longer cable, and the cable is much more manageable with regard to being able to manipulate it without displacing the screen position - so much more convenient to use. This tool easily paid for itself in reduced frustration and by greatly reducing the time it took me to swap out that one sensor - probably cut more than an hour off of the job for me judging by how much faster I got the 6.0L sensor swapped out than the 8.1, even with the fact that the space I had to work was smaller and the angles to get to the sensor were more challenging. I would definitely recommend this tool to anyone - don't think it can be beat - especially at this price-point In fact, I'd say this tool is a "must-have" for anyone who works on cars or does other repairs where you can't get your head in a position to see what you're working on - from a frustration-saving standpoint, you really can't afford NOT to have this. It's simple enough to use that anyone who has the aptitude to do minor repairs should be able to figure out how to use it without even reading the instructions - but I looked over the instructions anyway (after using the scope to do that first job) and they are well written.

Huge help, for little Money, with a couple of minor caveats...
First off, if you think you need one, buy this borescope immediately. I needed to determine what was inside the soffit over my kitchen without destroying it prematurely. So I drilled a small hole, poked the camera through and saw all kinds of pipes and obstructions that put an immediate end to Plan A. I then proceeded to install new wiring and lighting in the ceiling by pushing the camera through existing openings of the old lights. So, why only 4 stars? Not because I don't like the product, I totally do! Just want to set your expectations for a couple of reasons. The first reason is the video quality. Don't expect a perfect image. While there are plenty of technical reasons why a fixed-focus camera of this size (and low cost) can't deliver ultra-sharp images, you may be disappointed. Don't be. Learn to use the camera effectively and get the most out of it. Might take a few minutes to get used to it, but it will definitely do the job. The second thing to be aware of is that you need to be deliberate about the orientation of the camera. The wire is stiff, so it can be challenging to bend and twist the camera to the correct orientation, but again, it's worth the effort. You need to know which side is up so the camera can be guided effectively, so take a minute to orient it correctly. With all that said, the pluses are that 1) the whole system is one unit, with an attached camera, and super-easy to deploy, 2) the battery is rechargeable so you're not scrambling for batteries the next time you use it, 3) the lighting is variable, and this is a big deal because too much light can wash out the image. The device has paid for itself several times over with the ceiling lighting project alone. Can't wait to use it on my cars, boat and any other home project where seeing in close quarters is necessary.

Great product at a very nice price point.
Just fired-up this Endoscope after charging. I'm impressed. At this price point, the image is exceptional. Using it to troubleshoot what appears to be a clogged drain pipe. Can also see it being used for auto engine cylinder inspections through the spark plug hole. If you have needs . . . . . just get it. Will update after actual usage.

Scope packs a punch for great value
Got this just for my chimney inspections 5 months back, but it's so easy to use that I started using it to survey crawlspaces and wallspaces. Biggest pros for me are ease of use & value for the price point. The camera pics are really clear, and you can vary screen brightness settings to suit your ambient needs. End-tip LEDs work really well even while rooting through black chimney pipe etc. Lightweight unit. Wasn't confident the camera flex cord would be stiff enough for multiple pipe bends, but the good news is it's been plenty stiff enough: retains its shape. Came with everything organized in compact box for EZ access & storage. Battery has held charge really well after repeated uses, and I like the fast EZ recharge feature. Another + is ease of cleaning; just wipe the shrouds and done, even after creosote. IMO they did really good on this one.

Excellent tool for the price
The gray tank in my RV was not draining properly. I had no clue what the problem was, suspecting some kind of blockage in the five-foot line between the tank and the shutoff valve. This borescope gave me the eyes I needed. What it showed me was that there was nothing blocking the line. That was a surprise, but this info eliminated several potential issues. Even though I didn't locate the source of the problem, this scope showed me where the problem wasn't, and that's at least half the battle. The stiff camera cable was perfect for working the camera up into and along the drain pipe. While the image could be a little brighter, it was sufficient for seeing what I needed to see, even outside. The only challenge I faced in using it was water on the lens. When it got wet, the image would blur. That's normal. If either dry or under water, it should be just fine. This was money well-spent for me.

Apparently a recycled return but works OK
The attachment bag was cut open and the contents scattered in the box, the cable looked to be uncoiled and re-coiled. I suppose someone bought it, used it and returned it? I only report the condition as received and really don't know the history, but the opened bag and bent cable is fishy. The unit works OK, the picture is a bit grainy but quite adequate at different distances. I can see detail just fine. The lighting is good. It will be perfect for my purpose and no need to return. Had it been in unopened condition, I would give it 5 stars.

Works better than expected
For the price on this endoscope camera you can't go wrong. I've had others that utilize your phone or tablet as the screen that cost as much as this one, and they just don't work right. Plus I don't want to risk dropping my phone in an engine bay and breaking it. This unit can take a dropping and rough handling without any sign of damage. It's saved me time and aggregation when working on cars and works better than an inspection mirror when you can't see and are going off feel for bolts, nuts and plugs in a car. Or when you drop your crush washer for the oilline on your turbo and need to know if it fell into the turbo or somewhere safe outside the engine. I also use it to make sure what's inside the wall cavities in my old house before I start cutting them open while remodeling to make sure it's safe and to see if I'm going to have any obstructions in my way. The screen is about the same size of a Galaxy 23 and is clearer than my pictures show. They're not as clear as the description shows but I assumed that at this price point, but they do still have great detail when items are closer by and you can still see what something is in a dark & dusty wall cavity several feet away. Has good battery life, uses a type C charger, lightweight and easy to use. Bottom line if you work on cars or other motorized items or DIY house projects this is a great tool to have and I would definitely buy this one again if I needed another one.
