outstanding
I discovered a new author-for-me. I loved this book. The characters won my heart and the plot kept me captivated. A woman suffered the loss of her Mom and her Grammie. Happenstance brings a biker President into her life and everything after their meeting. There are gun battles, devastating fires, friends die and a parent resurfaces. They still have to fight to obtain their HEA. No cheating, no cliffhanger. Outstanding read.

Waco MC Love Story
I have been seeing this book on social media a lot being recommended, and it’s been on my wishlist for quite some time, so I figured it was time for me to finally read it. I like romances with age gaps and I also really like motorcycle club books as well, so this was a pretty good bet for me to like it.So I definitely like the age gap between the two main characters, Mia and Colt. I liked the set up for how these two meet, it’s very meet cute, Mia being a bartender who is trying to get a customer to leave her alone so she ends up asking Colt, who she’s never met before to pretend to be her boyfriend. I liked the push and pull between Colt and Mia especially when they kind of tease each other in the beginning. There are also a lot of really emotional scenes throughout the book which I like, because I like books that pull at the heartstrings.I will say this book felt like it was a little long, I remember thinking I had to be almost done only to discover I was only 50 percent done. It doesn’t get boring or anything, but it is long. I also felt like the relationship dynamic with Colt and Mia didn’t really feel like the kind of relationship you expect in a MC book. It’s very lovely dovey, super committed really quick, not quite instalove but close, it’s more like Colt is missing that sort of hard element you expect in an MC hero, especially for the president.I will say I liked the storyline of this book, its strong throughout. Mia finds herself caught up with a different MC club because of her boss and has no choice but to go to Colt’s MC for help. She really doesn’t understand what is going on so there is a lot of information that is found out throughout the book and definitely some serious elements of suspense. Overall I enjoyed reading the book and I would read other books from this author in the future.

so much more than I’d hoped for
The opening scene of this book has been used for those bait-and-switch serialized story apps advertising all over social media and now that I’ve found the ACTUAL book it’s based on I can honestly say it has more than delivered on its potential.Mia and Colt are two lonely souls, hoping to find their one person who just understands them. And their chance encounter changes the trajectory of their lives irrevocably. This book has so much angst and heart. I often have issues with the socio-cultural dynamics in MC books, and Wreck & Ruin doesn’t try to skirt or avoid them, it fully acknowledges how problematic the lifestyle can be and shows how it can still work. These are intense books, and I don’t know when I’ll be recovered enough emotionally for the next in the series but I’m so glad I found this and gave it a chance.

Mixed emotions
Bring-on-the-trouble Female meets BA Alphamale. This was a good story and I enjoyed watching Mia and Colt grow, but I also don’t like that Colt made most the decisions without Mia’s input. I liked Mia’s personality but I was also concerned for her situation too. Some things didn’t always make sense and just seemed like she had extreme bad luck.Biker, insta-relationship, cartel, damsel, President, found family

obsessed
I couldn’t put this book down for the life of me. I love MC reads. But this one came with a few unexpected twists. A don’t touch my woman or die alpha male & of course a strong independent lady. It was enough laughter, love, sadness & spice. So yes grab tissues because you might get sentimental like me and enjoy the ride. Now I want to read the rest of them. I can’t wait to get more of this MC family.

New author. Good read
I read Mia and Colt'a story over th morning. Only pausing to help clean a kiddos room. I'd say this reads easy, not a quick read, but a few hours.I've never read anything by Emma Slate but I'm getting reader burnout and she kept showing up in Kindle suggestions. I slipped into the reviews just to see because 7$ is beyond what I am willing to pay normally. There was mention in a few reviews on events that readers felt were necessary, not only in this book for others in the series. I'm here to tell you that club life isn't rainbows and unicorns, ya'll. I want a book that's bloody, and tense, where you worry for the characters and scream when they make a move you can't possibly think they'll make it out of. Also... A strong female lead. Mia was everything Colt needed and vice versa. Sure there was an age gap there, but both were mature enough to call each other on their crap and adult enough to use their words.I really enjoyed the secondary characters. They didn't carry the storyline, but added to it and got you interested enough that you want their stories. Not right away, because again that cost, but eventually I'll go back the other books.

Two thumbs way way up!!
The advertised synopsis is a little misleading; but the book was a phenomenal and enjoyable read. The characters and their emotions are well written and easy to relate to. Will continue to read the series and definitely re-read it.

Tropes: ▪ Motorcycle Club ▪ Forced Proximity ▪ Age Gap ▪ Grumpy x Sunshine ▪ Touch her & you d13 ▪This book has been on my tbr for years! I can't believe i waited so long to read it, I've absolutely loved it! I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series. When Mia accidentally kisses the president of the local MC, she finds her life flipped upside down. Colt knows Mia is exactly what he wants when she approaches him, he just has to convince her to stay. This was such a good book, I've been cracking a good MC Romance for a while and this has hit the spot. It has plot, spice, ups and downs. I'm just so sad I waited 4 years to read it!

Surprised
I've actually never read a "biker" romance, and normally super-bro-y alpha types aren't for me, but this was pretty good. The damsel in distress female main does give me the ick at times, but I think overall this was really enjoyable, and any qualms I had with it are due to my own preference, not the writing itself. Would recommend :)

As the first book read from this author and this genre, I wasn't expecting much, but it did surprise me. A lot of suspense and got right into the story from the start. Didn't slow down and made me eager for the next partThe characters are all enjoyable and the plot exciting
