Yes. No probs. As far as i understand its also benificial to your filter . Used it for a couple of years now along with kh up. And koi clay. All good .

No idea, all I do know if the water hardeness is well below the 8dh level the pond quality will function less,due to a depletion of minerals in the water, which in turn can affect the fish plus the PH level, best contact NT labs for more information, that's why I check mine on a regular basis along with other chemical tests
