Mosby's Manual of Diagnostic and Laboratory Tests

My coworker and I are oncology nurse navigators and neither of us had had a lab resource book since nursing school (many years ago). We wanted a comprehensive lab book with explanations for abnormal lab results. We split the cost and ordered this book. This book is FANTASTIC. Not only does it cover labs and possible causes for abnormal results, it covers radiological tests as well. There is also a priceless section in the book that lists common labs and tests that are frequently ordered with specific diseases or diagnoses!!

I have always found this the best lab guide through my nursing career. Great to have on hand. Bought a used copy and it didn’t even seem as though it was ever opened. Perfect condition!

I was required to get this book for nursing school but it is a good book. It covers information that other books do not. The information it covers is very important for nursing and definitely one worth getting if your program wants it.

The book itself gets 5 stars. Deducted one for slight damage to binding. Exactly what I needed for my clinical rotations in nursing school. It shows everything from every blood lab normal value and indication, why it is commonly performed, what can interfere with the results of said test, etc. The book also shows various scanning and testing procedures, and biopsies. You can also search the book by disease process. Overall I highly recommend and will get a lot of use out of this book. I put some pictures up to hopefully give a decent depiction of what the book has to offer.

Book arrived in good condition; information within was up to date and useful for referencing. We didn't end up using this book often, but if it's a required book it can be pretty useful if you need to research different types of labs and their associated conditions.

I got this book because I am presently in nursing school and since lab tests and values are so important to pharmacology (medications administration) and other areas of nursing so I decided to purchase it which I think will be very useful for either actual students or experienced nurses.

Second semester nursing student. This made my life so much easier. I’ve tried other lab books and they were confusing and weird or hard to understand or didn’t have enough info. This is perfect. It tells you what the test is what it checks and what could cause a lab to be too high or low.
