I have a 2015 Chevy Cruz. At 70k, the water pump gave out. I replaced the factory thermostat with that repair with an aftermarket thermostat in a PVC housing. It cost me $80 at Autozone (OEM was $170). 25k miles later, and I had trouble again with the cooling system. When I took everything apart, I discovered that it was the thermostat that failed. The PVC housing became brittle, and cracked. Not wanting to make the same mistake twice, I found this thermostat with an aluminum housing for much less. It appears well made, and fit perfectly. I’ve put a few hundred miles on it, and it is functioning well and no signs of even the slightest leak. I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase!

Installed on a 2016 Chevy Sonic LTZ 1.4L Turbo . Fits just like the plastic factory one. I went with aluminum because the plastic ones can get brittle and crack and its really hard to find the leak. This one was easy to replace and seems to be well made. This is a complete assembly too, so no other parts needed. I would recommend also getting long reach Hose Clamp Pliers, as getting the clamp off and back on without one is a real PITA. I replaced mine after pressurizing the coolant system and spraying soapy water to find the leak.

This product failed in less then 2 months of it being installed or if it ever really worked. I bought it in October 2024. It was installed. On the same day, the vehicle was still running hot, after installation. We thought that it may have been the water pump, but it was not. The water pump checked out fine. I could not get 10 minutes up the road before the car would run hot. Useless. Now we are back to purchasing another thermostat around the holidays. This is so ridiculous. A brand new part should not fail that quickly, after purchase and installation. This was a waste of time and money. Ended up having to get another one locally.

The aluminum looks so much nicer and fit perfectly into my 2016 Chevy Cruze limited LT. these cars are all plastic and the upgrade to aluminum gives me some confidence

Seems to be an ok part, the sensor plug was really tight getting the plug onto other than that so far so good ( hope I didn't jinx it) The factory part is plastic ( ok composite or plasitiglass) hoping the Alu last 100K ? Not a terrible job to do, 1/2 hr maybe ? I don't rush any more so I don't stress over time. Get yourself some torx sockets or be a hack and shove a 12 point on :(

I bought this after another one that I purchased on Amazon from another brand stuck open within 1000 miles (plastic version). The install is easy and includes gasket. Been going well now for about 1500 miles. I monitor temp via an app and ODBII adapter and this keeps the car a pretty constant temperature and opens when it’s supposed to. I do not notice that it’s running cooler as a result of the aluminum but it definitely looks better. I’ve also replaced the outlet on the other side with aluminum part as well.

Great product replaces the cheap original equipment plastic housing which stress cracks and leaks from heat exposure. And these were only 3 or 4 dollars more than plastic ones. Buy these aluminium ones you'll be glad you did.

After changing out to this thermostat, car (1.4l Turbo) threw up Code 89 persistently. Temperature gauge took longer than usual to reach its usual operating position. Turns out the sensor inside was faulty (according to my mechanic). If you want to upgrade your plastic housing, keep the original sensor and swap it into this aluminium housing.

Part arrived as described with gasket. Mated well with new aluminum water pump. Senor connection better then OEM. Easy installation overall; hose clamps help getting the hose off and on. Just installed 2 days ago at time of writing.
