And that is exactly what this outdoor power control unit provides. We bought it specifically to mount in the center of our patio table. We often sit outside and work so we needed outlets for two laptop computers, a buglight and a string of rope lights. This unit provides that and so far has been impervious to the weather.This unit has six power outlets, three per side, plus a mounting spike (detachable)so that it can be on a lawn and then be an automated control center for outdoor lighting, Christmas lights or what ever. It has a master ON/OFF circuit breaker in addition to timer under a plastic cover on top of the unit. The timer is really quite versatile. It can be set to turn the outlets on at dusk and then turn them off again at dawn or at any one of four preset intervals (2,4,6 & 8 hours).There really isn't a whole lot more to say about this unit. It has performed reliably even both good and bad weather. If I needed another outdoor power unit I would buy another one of these.FOUR YEAR UPDATEWe have now been using this unit for four years. Throughout all of this time the unit has sat unprotected outside in the center hole of our glass patio table on the back deck. After all this time the unit still works great. The top plastic cover has yellowed with age and the UV to which it has been exposed. Still, all outlets still work just fine. The hinged protective covers for each outlet are all there and they all still work freely. The timer works perfectly as well.I am impressed. This unit has withstood the ravages of time and weather and is still working perfectly. Amazing.FIVE YEAR UPDATESame as the four year update. This unit is still going strong. Kind of like the Ever Ready Bunny - it just keeps on going and going and going......This silly thing may just outlive me!!!!!!!TEN YEAR UPDATEWell, this unit is still in place and is still working perfectly. We still use it almost daily with one or more laptops plugged in as we sit out on the deck. Its longevity is truly amazing. This item has now been outdoors every day fo over ten years.UV radiation has completely clouded the plastic top but the on/off automated timer still works perfectly. I wonder if its warranty period has expired. Maybe I could get a replacement top. 😎

Amazing product! Can’t believe I set up Christmas lights without this product- I would manually turn outdoor lights off and on everyday. I only bought one and was concerned how much wattage it would hold. I had a combination of the older Christmas lights and some newer low energy LED Christmas lights. And the stake handled everything beautifully. The setting are great to save money . I prefer to have the lights on for only a few hours - from dusk to about 10pm. And this stake light does that. There are other settings ( dusk-dawn, on all the time, dusk to 2/6/8 hours). There are no issues with the stake turning on my Christmas lights when it’s gloomy during the day time. It turns on when it’s dark. I also have a very bright outdoor light a few feet from the stake but it doesn’t affect the stake to turn on at night. The stake is also pretty hefty. It’s a good size and can hold up well. Very easy to operate. There is a on/off red switch in the back that starts up the system and the knob on top of the stake (covered with a clear cover ) can be twisted to suit your preferences for timings.Weather- my Christmas lights even turned on during a Midwest blizzard ( freezing rain, ice and heavy snow fall). My lights were buried and barely visible but they were turned on. My lights currently are encased in ice but the stake is on and working well.

So I bought this in October for the Chistmas lights. The box didn't get opened until December. After I got my lights up and plugged into this unit, I discovered there was a missing cover for the dial. I found a phone number on the box and called it. I was informed I could not return it to Amazon, as I had missed their window. She asked me to email them (I guess they need something in writing) so I did. She said they'd send me what I thought would just be the cover that I could simply snap on. I got the box about a wk before Christmas and thought to myself "awfully big box for a lid", opened it and was shocked to see a completely new unit! What a surprise! The unit(s) work great, easy to figure out ( you have the ability to turn it on at dusk and off at dawn; on all night. You also have the ability to turn it on at dusk and have it shut off two, four, six hours later. But the drawback of that setting is that it also comes on two, four, six hours after dawn so it will come on for a few hours in the morning. Pick your poison. Great product and even better customer service. Just make sure when you get it that there is a lead going over the dial and that works.

For the price, this product is quite the work horse. I've used this year around for the last 2 years and have very little to complain about.Every night, this timer triggers a plugged in spot light to turn on as I don't have a low voltage setup just yet. Throughout the year, I vary the timer between 2 and 6 hours and it never fails. Additionally, I'm in PA with some harsh winters and the weather has had no influence on operation.During the Christmas season, I have this light powering 200 5W C7 bulbs on two stringers in addition to the spot light mentioned above. Again, I use it with complete confidence and will be using it again to power my display for the third year in a row.Why 4 stars instead of 5? One reason: I wish the used outlets still had cover from the elements. The unused outlets have the flap over them, but when used, the cap is open and water could certainly work it's way in. There was a few days where my Christmas light display would turn on, then off, then on, then off... for about 2 minutes until it sort of worked itself out. I believe this was due to water getting into the socket and shorting things out temporarily. Luckily, this is placed under an overhang on my house and behind a shrub, but this could cause some minor problems for some folks.

I ordered this for doing Xmas lights at my Mums place as she only has one outside outlet. Ended up ordering 2. One was supposed to be for me but used one for the front of her place and one for the back. So easy to use and set. Even when her power went out there was no interruption of her Xmas lights because sensor/timer comes on at dusk.

The dusk till dawn works great... Even if I don't use it. I did test it to see how it worked. No quality problems with this item for sure. My only wish would have been a longer extension but really... Thats what extension cords are for... Not this haha.

Works great have 3 areas of Christmas lights plugged into it and comes on when dark and goes off when light.Price is right as those large building centers want twice the price for the same thing

I was skeptical about this outdoor timer because I’ve been let down before by other Woods products but this timer works perfectly. I’ve been using it for three weeks now and not a single issue. I would recommend this timer for your seasonal outdoor lights.

I am using it to put lights in my balcony. Works well even at -35 degree celcius weather
