Great running shoe with enough width, but one annoying flaw
I have a wide foot and it is difficult to find shoes that fit without special ordering (and 6.5W is not readily available regardless). These in a 7 (sized up for running shoes to account for swelling) fit beautifully, with plenty of room in the toe box for my wide feet. I also have a very high arch and some knee problems, and these feel great when I run. Doing the runner's box lace also gave plenty of room for my high instep, and eliminated the terrible pain I used to experience from running shoes laced tightly enough not to slip. I've been able to really up my mileage this season without any of the lingering aches and pains, particularly in my feet and shins, that I had in the past. I happened to be in my PT's office shortly after I got them and she reviewed my gait running at my current top speed; she said these shoes are worth every penny because they're doing a great job controlling my gait and therefore helping prevent injury. One caveat that irks me... I've bought two pairs so far, because they really are the most ideal running shoes I've ever worn (for me, obviously YMMV). In the first pair, a slight flaw in the stitching of the left shoe at the top of the curved heel cutout created a lump just under the fabric that gave me a constant blister. I actually had to cut the fabric and snip out the little lump, which I was loathe to do in newer shoes that cost a small fortune. When I bought the second pair, it had the same problem, but in the right shoe. Considering these go for nearly $150 (depending on where you source them), I am annoyed that this is apparently a manufacturing issue and I can't trust that I can buy a pair that won't cause blisters. I ran the Chicago Triathlon this weekend with an unhealed, uncomfortable blister because of it. It makes me feel like the only options for buying these are to pay way more in a store so you can test run them on site and check for the stitching flaw, or order them more affordably online but know you may have to return multiple times if the flaw is present. They work so well in every other regard that I'll probably continue to buy them. This brand has always been my savior in terms of width, I'll just hope they fix this issue in future iterations.Experience level: Female in early 40s, 12 years back of the pack age group triathlete with 1 year focused on improving running, average 10-15 miles per week, longest runs 10K

Best shoes I've put on my feet
I am a runner with specific physical problem areas that I need to make sure my footwear addresses. I have periformus syndrome so it's super important to have the right support so I don't end up with hip/knee/shin pain or wherever the problem decides to show up. I also have high arches and a standard gait (do not pronate or supinate) - a neutral shoe with bounce/spring and a higher ankle support in the back is what I prefer. Anything with overly hard support actually irritates my foot considerably or makes it fall asleep. I have a somewhat wide foot although it doesn't measure as a standard-wide. For most new balances I have to order wide as the standard shoe is too narrow so that is what I ordered here. I had tried these on at a local premiere running shoe store so I knew the fit would be right. There was not one point of the shoe that bothered me - it felt like putting on Cinderella's perfect glass slipper. At the time, the store only had in stock the white/berry/blue/gold pair which I wasn't crazy about aesthetically but I really liked the fit so I decided to see if it was offered in a different color. Very glad they are!

New Balance Women's W1080 Purple size 8c/d
I should start my review stating I am not a runner. I just got these shoes yesterday. They are much brighter and vibrant than the picture. And I would say they are purple and orange rather than yellow. They are the lightest shoes I have ever owned. I have been buying another brand for the past several years but when I saw these my heart skipped a beat. The are beautiful. I am an 8, slightly wide so I ordered the 8 c/d and they are a perfect fit, very comfortable and seem to be very well made. My husband has been trying to get me to try NB for some time but I was reluctant to try anything new since it had taken me so long to find some that were perfect for me and met my needs. These will not replace my regular ones, at least not yet but hey are beautifully bright and playful and will be a welcome change

Bring Back the 1080V3
I have wide feet (D width) and am a multiple marathoner and triathlete. I have worn this model shoe since it was the 1060-something. I used to have to special-lace every shoe I purchased until the 1060s came out. I became a die-hard 1000-series fan because I could order the new pair, which fit out of the box, without fail, every.single.year.Until the 1080v4.Not only is it less mesh and plush than the v3, it's so narrow that the same size I have always worn in the 1060, 1080v2, v3, etc. did not fit me. When I say "did not fit me," I do not exaggerate. A D width - which I always purchase in this exact model - was so narrow that I could see my socks through either side of the "tongue gap." Because I love NB and this model, I sized up a half size. Sure, I could get my feet in them, but running? It's almost impossible. The result has been pinching pain in the wide part of my foot if I lace the shoes so that they don't slip off my heels. I kept trying different lacing techniques, to the point where I can no longer return the shoe. Definitely a bad use of $135 and my first real issue with an NB shoe.Bring back the fit of 1080v3.

Two outa three aint bad
Bought one pair of these shoes locally, when I could try them on, and loved them! Trained and ran in them for 1/2 marathon distance. Never one blister or toenail issue. Wore well and stayed comfortable. So i bought three more pair here in different colors about six months later. Two of the three pair fit as expected, but the white (with red and blue) was at least a 1/2 size bigger. I tried running in them with thicker socks, but not good for longer distances. Not sure if it is that color or just a fluke with that pair, but that variablity was my only disappointment.

V4 1080 Standard width.
These neutral trainers were bought to replace my beloved Version 2 pair that have seen me train injury free over the last year. I wore these out yesterday for a 10k run to see how they felt and they're great! I would always recommend seeing a specialist to see what type of running shoe you need (it's free and doesn't take long) but if you're after a stylish pair of neutral shoes, I think these are great!

Lightweight, great fit, great colour!
Replaced existing New Balance trainers with these, same model, different colour. Didn't disappoint, but lighter than previous pair. Great from the minute I ran in them and love the look of them! Quite pricey but worth it.
