Worth it's weight in gold
I highly recommend this particular product for washing your down jackets and coats. It may be a lengthy process, but it is worth it. My coat came out soooohhh nice. First I washed my coat and then I washed again with the treatment only. I dried my coat on the lowest setting with tennis balls, adding one specifically in the pocket of the coat to help to tug the coat...and it came out really nice. Note worthy, I used less than the recommended amount of the product and it still came out very clean.

Easy to use and works really well
I was able to wash two down jackets and a sleeping bag with this. It recommends a commercial washer for the sleeping bag, but my normal washing machine did just fine. My items came out clean and the water repellency was back to where it was when I bought them.

Good product, but a couple things you should know
I bought the Down Duo-Pack (Down Wash.Direct + Down Proof). The wash is fine, standard stuff. I'd never used Down Proof before, however, but I wanted to get my Patagonia jacket treated for an upcoming trip. As you can see in the attached photo, my jacket (on the right), looks a bit lighter than my wife's untreated jacket on the left. I suppose it's to be expected that a wax-like waterproofing would turn colors a bit lighter and more faded-looking, but it would be nice if Nikwax would tell you that.Aside from the slight faded look and a bit of a waxy-chemical smell (even after it's dried), the product seems to be working as intended. The other thing Nikwax could do is update their instructions. Currently they say to ONLY use a front-load washer if you're going to machine wash, but a top-load washer (without agitator) works just fine. I think the only reason they say front-load only is because top-loaders with center agitators can be a bit rough on delicate baffle seams in down items.

Combo Pack Revitalized my Down Jacket
I have a waterproof down jacket that I love, but that had gotten dirty over the years from multiple camping and ski trips. The waterproofing had worn off some so I was hoping this detergent would help bring it back t life. Instructions were easy to follow and while it did take a while to run 2 wash cycles, the results after I got the jacket fully dried were great. The down got re-fluffed in the dryer (no clumping), and the waterproofing was great - ran some tests running the sleeve and hood under a faucet and it slid right off. Definitely recommend this product if you've got down outdoor clothing or a down sleeping bag.

Best down wash on the market.
I’ve been buying this product for 30 years. It is the only product I use on my down coats, down, comforter, down, sleeping bag… Anything with down insulated that I own. Highly recommend this, this is the correct way to take care of your down products

Down Jacket wash.
I only used the cleaner. Washed the coat per the directions and dried it with dryer balls and it came out very fluffed up in good shape and smelled nice.

Great for renewing a donated down jacket!
I've been going through my closet recently to donate things I no longer need or wear, and I had a well loved white down parka. I didn't want to donate it dirty, so I was looking for an inexpensive way of cleaning it. I trust nikwax products for all of my expensive snowboarding gear, so I figured I'd give this a try.We have a front load washer, and I just threw in a bunch washer/dryer balls just for extra agitation, and it made my white down parka white again. Just did another cycle to put in the weatherproofing and dried (again with a bunch of washer/dryer balls) and it fluffed up and dried great! I was expecting to have to go back and fluff after 10-20min, but the washer/dryer balls did their job! It basically looked new when I got done cleaning it, which can be difficult for white parkas, and there really wasn't any type of chemical odor coming from it.Now I'm renewing all our down gear, one by one. I grew up to a family that owned a dry cleaning store, and know how much it can cost to get down cleaned, and this is a great, relatively inexpensive alternative.
