Kuhn Rikon Frosting Deco Pen

This device makes icing names & patterns so easy as it is battery operated (2AA batteries inserted into the base). It has two speeds - fast & slow. Really easy to use. It comes supplied with 6 different nossles for different effects & 2 cartridges for icing. Can't believe how easy we iced out names using this pen - no more shaky hands!! We have even filled the pen with Ketchup and piped kids names onto their plates during play dates - kids very excited to see this rather than a smiley face! The only gripe I had was that it featured a recommended container for frosting & enclosed certain parts in pack to make pumping easier from this frosting pack - this frosting container isn't easily available in every country so renders these parts ineffective. However in saying that, the pen can stil be filled up manually. Would happily recommend it to all novice bakers. Kids will find it fun also to decorate their cupcakes. I bought this myself but it would make great gift to give also - your recipient will never forget you for giving such a useful gift!!

I bought the betty crocker frosting as instructed, and proceeded to fill the pen. What a mess. frosting doesn't flow easily, I'm going to make my own frosting and try that, but going by what ive experienced, the pen is a waste of time and money.

I really love the easy use of this deco pen Great for writing on cookies, cakes etc I especially like the tool that inserts jam/cream etc to the middle of a cupcake. I would recommend this to the home and professional baker alike

Good once you get use to it but very hard for my wife to change cartridges because of arthritis in her hands.

This is the best decorating pen I have used providing the frosting is soft. The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because one can only use Betty Crocker or similar to fill the pen automatically. So if you cannot find this make in the shops near you, using the supermarkets own make takes a little bit longer and can have air holes which prevents one from having a continuous even flow. It is worth the special offer I paid. Don't think I would have paid anymore.

Bought this as a Christmas present for my partner as she makes cakes all the time. She has tried to use it a few times but I don't think it really suits her. It's hard to make icing the right consistency to work properly with this (either too runny or too hard and it won't work). I'm sure with trial and error and practice this would be a good product, but not for everyone.

This is so efficient - very Swiss! Highly recommend, especially if you have painful joints in your hand, but still want to ice your cakes - much less painful. Bung the icing in the cartridge; put the batteries in; press the notch and off you go. If, like me, you make cakes for work each week, this will save you loads of time and make your cakes look professional.

Very weak pushing strength, only suitable for very liquidity content. I couln't use it for decorating cookie tops with very soft butter cookie dough. Threw it away.

I was really excited to find the deco pen as arthritis has made it difficult to squeeze frosting bags, however this pens does not work well for any length of time. The flow of the frosting is difficult to control and then the plastic cogs begin to click and slip.They have the right idea, but need to improve the design and use more durable materials.

Love this product. My husband loves to decorate cakes, cookies and cupcakes. His words were 'this is great". I wish I had bought one a long time ago.

I thought this would save my wrists from the carpel tunnel, but it doesn't give you the accuracy and flexibility decorating my hand does and the tips aren't so great.
