Really clear and concise
As always heynes do an amazing job, easy to understand and easy to follow.

Doesn't cover much, even less for UK models
This book only covers the US models, which means if you own a 1.8 or 2 litre model (as most UK owners will) it offers very little when it comes to the engine. It also focuses too heavily on the Mk2 rather than Mk1, which gets annoying as a lot of things are ever so slightly different. Haynes manuals used to be an amazing source of knowledge for DIY car maintenence, now unfortunately there's a void in the market where Haynes once were. Even if this book had actually been written about the UK version, the level of detail is pathetic when compared to the books they released in years gone by. Hopefully one day someone else will pick up the mantle and write good quality workshop manuals again.

Not for UK/European 1.8 or 2.0 l engines
Not for European cars. Doesn't cover 1.8 or 2.0 litre petrol engines. Ok for most other aspects. Fluid conversion chart from US to Imperial volumes. Like all modern Haynes manuals it is a softback with cheap/ recycled flimsy paper and a fair number of indistinct black and white photos.

As states
is what it says

US version
This is for the US market so you have to be careful what information you take out of it if you're in Europe.

then this is Recommended.
As a Haynes manual should be, no gimmicks, just straightforward information laid out in logical sequence. If you own a Mazda 6 2.2 sport, then this is Recommended.

AVOID
Buyer Beware!!!!This covers the US/Canadian models only and so doesn't include any of the 4 cylinder petrol engines below 2.5l or indeed any of the diesels! So basically none of the engines actually released in the UK market. It's been a while since I've needed a Haynes manual and I have to say the quality of narrative and explanations is now rubbish. For instance the section on brakes only covers the front discs...... without referring to anything on the rears either way.Very bad product by Haynes I have to say.
