Great case for the price
I purchased this case to replace a worn out Otterbox defender for an Iphone 8s. This case is definately a “clone” and just like an otterbox, it appears identical in material and thickness and isn’t intended to be removed on a daily basis. Removing it will eventually streatch out the rubber surround and stress the clips, speeding up wearing it out. Be sure your phone is clean before you install it. Looking at the cutouts, they are in all the correct positions, don’t block the speakers, but there is no way this is waterproof. It will stop a splash on the face and give you some time to save your phone if you spill a beer in it, but drop it in a toilet and shes a gonner.Just like other reviews, Yes the belt clip holster is junk. If you buy this for the clip, expect disappointment. I purposefully stuck my finger between the clip and body of the holster and it broke off with very little effort. The clip attaches with a two piece system that appears to be final assebled with superglue. Ive never used them and for this price point, who cares.I would recommend this item.

comparison and contrast
Giving 3 iphones for Christmas this year and wanted the added protection of a case with a cheaper brand than my customary brand (loyal Otterbox customer). So straight out of the box, they are identical design (perhaps not the same material, but i'll get to that later). I bought 1 to try it out on my iPhone and I have to say, there are differences and not all in Otterbox's favor. First, the task of opening the case is similar to the Otterbox experience, with one difference. I use the tip of a metal nail file to open the clips. With this case I almost broke a clip doing this, noting the black clip showed a white "stretch mark" as I pried it open. No worries, it didn't break but be careful when you open in for this reason. Second, the closing of the case is what you would expect, snap, snap, snap, and youre done. Third, (and last), the flexible shell cover was a bit difficult to apply, but once completed, the fit was as snug as possible. Recommend you start with a section that has already made final contact and walk your fingers around the edges from that point. Trying to squeeze the cover into place causes the screen protector to wrinkle and could damage it, although I was very careful and the protector is blemish=free. Make sure your phone glass, and protector are fingerprint free as you will NOT want to take this case apart again to clean it. Like any case, repeat removal of the outer shell will cause stretching. I don't remember when the old case started to lose its shell shape, but the end of the otterbox case was lose enough that I could bend it out far enough to plug the charger in comfortably. We will see how this case holds up. I'll update it after a few months. Good luck!!!UPDATE 4/11/19Case functions exactly like the more expensive Otterbox. Rubber enclosure has maintained its shape to date. A far as I am concerned, it works just as well as the other brand. Would definitely buy it again.UPDATE 1/7/21Still using the same case originally reviewed. Tabs at the power switch and charger spot fell off (just like Otterbox's did) but the shape of the rubber remains uncompromised.UPDATE 8/1/2021Same case, been around the globe twice now. Rubber gasket still has its original shape. Just upgraded to iPhone 11, and will def be getting their case for it.

Durable, Bulky, Some design shortcomings
I go through a lot of iPhone cases, mostly because the clip breaks off or if dropped a corner of the case holder breaks off and it no longer holds the phone. While I believe this product will likely outlast most, it has two very annoying shortcomings. One, where the phone snaps into place and the plastic protrusion fits into a small slot to lock in the phone, if you are snapping it into place with the phone holder on your belt, the plastic protrusion routinely gets caught in the rubber edge around the phone pushing it out of place off the phone. This happens almost 50% of the time I try to put the phone in the holder and there have been a number of times where I thought the phone was secure in the holder and was not and eventually fell out of the holder. Two, the hole where the charging cord goes through to charge the phone is too large. It affords missing the charging hole in the phone because there is too much space that lets the charging plug fit through the hole and miss the charging receptacle. Either through many attempts or having to physically look at the opening to guide the charging plug do I eventually get the plug into the receptacle. While these might be minor to some it is a nuisance that motivates me to not recommend this product. I have not had these same problems with other similar products, albeit there lack of durability motivated me to try this one. The plastic touchscreen cover also does not provide 100% reaction to touch

Phone fell out of holster, landed on riding mower muffler... Almost caught on fire.
At first, I was impressed and thought this was the same as Otterbox but without the name printed on the case. And cheaper. Until after 2 months of having the case, I was mowing grass on my zero turn mower. I was listening to music from my phone with a blue tooth headset.About 5 minutes from being finished, I started smelling a slight burning smell, but didn't see any issue. Then I backed the mower into the garage and my music cut off at the same time. I checked for my phone and it was gone. I checked the mower and didn't initially see it. I walked out to the yard and searched for a few minutes and was unable to locate the phone. I walked back to the mower and then saw the phone was setting on top of the muffler... cooking. At this point the phone had been on the muffler for at least 5 minutes. The rubber case was cooked to the muffler and I had to physically pull it off. The iPhone was so hot, it shut itself down- I was really surprised by this point it wasn't on fire. I peeled the case off and the phone was too hot to hold.Long story short, this case cost me a new display for $100. Luckily the rest of the phone did not appear damaged. I will spend my money next time on the Otterbox. I have never had any issues with those cases. And the phone never popped out of the Otterbox holsters.

Does what it is supposed to do at 1/2 the cost.
Awesome defense for your phone. But, this is the 4th Defense Otterbox that I have purchased because the belt clip snapped (broke) on the other 3 Defense OtterBox's. It seems that when I need just the Holster, they are always out of stock.

Not close to Otterbox Quality
Outercase rubber doesn't fit tightly around hard shell case. Screen protector isn't 'tight' so it shows lots of glare.

Terrible not worth damaging your phone....
Put this case on my phone for the 1st time instantly knew it was bad the home button wasn't able to be pressed as easy the screen turned very sensitive an would type randomly not a good case to protect a $1000 phone stick to buying original thought id give this a chance never again
