This is a Must Have for the Sous Vide enthusiast.. with usefulness far exceeding evaporation control. Density of these balls also serve well as a a prime insulator to increase energy efficiency and reduce heat loss through top of the Sous Vide tank. When combined with a foam tank insulating cover, the water bath temperatures is brought up to temperature somewhat quicker, and maintained more efficiently with less energy. In this current day and age, that is a good thing.I am impressed with quality and quanity of theses balls, which are more than ample in number for my 12” x 12” tank. The included mesh bag is sturdy and facilitates easy drying and storage. Lastly, I’m impressed with inclusion of four Sous Vide rust-proof clips, permitting users to secure pouches to each other, or a Sous Vide rack, to assure proper exposure to water flow. My only parting explanation is that these balls are especially Well suited for long cook times where and loss of heat is more prevelant.I would easily, give the Gramercy Kitchen Sous Vide Water Balls one of my highest endorsement of any product I have reviewed in over 20 years.

I bought this as an alternative to putting wrap on top of the food grade plastic containers I use for sous vide, and these work as advertised with the added benefit of helping keep sous vide bags submerged. The clips feel a bit cheap (a tip fell out of one of mine as I was unpacking it), but they're good enough. Solid purchase.

I used to always have to refill the water in my sousvide container while cooking, because it would just evaporate away. Now, I can cook without having to refill the water, which is awesome! I’m sure you guys all know, but when we have to refill the water, it will hangs the temperature of the water bath. It may just be temporary, but the fact that I don’t have to worry about that any more because of this product, is great!I just ran some tests last night. I filled my container up to the 10qt line, and let it circulate for 10 hours at 150 degrees. Basically none of the water evaporated. The picture shows what it looks like after 10 hours. In the past I would have had to wake up to refill the water because the water would have reached below minimum volume. Awesome product!

We used these this weekend and we definitely think they made a difference in the water temperature. The only issue is getting them out of the water and put away take a few mins we contemplated just putting them in the mesh in the water to make it easier

There are more than enough of these to cover the surface in my large stock pot. I use all of them to ensure full coverage. To get them out, I just use a large slotted spoon, dump them right back into their netted bag, with a towel underneath to catch water. Not losing any heat off the top. Longest use was for a beef roast that required a 24 hour bath. Be sure to insulate the sides of your container (I use a bath towel wrapped around the pot) and you're going to get a steady temperature for however long you need.

I used these with my sous vie machine that has a lid and these balls helped the water to come to temp faster! I would definitely recommend these for anyone that hates waiting for the water to come to temp or has issues with bags not staying submerged.

These sous vide water balls are well made of food safe materials. I appreciate the open mesh bag necessary for proper storage. The water balls help to maintain the water temperature inasmuch as they provide a flexible cover on the surface of the water. I also appreciate the thoughtful clamps provided by the seller. They are also made of food grade materials and are necessary to keep the cooking bags in place in the water bath. This entire package allows for quick set-up and cleanup with your sous vide. I am very pleased with this product.

Was a bit skeptical at first, but figured I would give them a try. Do exactly what they are purported to do; minimize evaporation, and keep your product submerged below the surface without the use of clips if you so desire. The mesh bag is nice too - just dump them in there and hang them (off the faucet for me) and they are dry and ready for storage in an hour or so. They appear well made and I expect them to last based upon a few uses and close examination of their construction. Overall - got exactly what was advertised and am very happy with them!

Not a pumpkin carving set but plastic balls to keep sous-vide water warm. Get a lid. Better buy.
