Safety first: In case you haven't heard, you shouldn't leave crystal balls outside and you should be careful if you have them anywhere sunlight can reach them. They can concentrate a burn-level beam of light, like a magnifying glass.I know it's a photography fad and it's easy to try it once then never do it again…but I wanted to see how I could incorporate these into my pictures!I'd always hesitated, in part because they flip the scene, which you have to either flip back or otherwise make sense of in your composition. I thought I'd give it a go when I saw I could get a two-pack, since I could flip the image back if both were in line.I did have fun with some quick sample shots. I'm planning to have them as props in a more serious shoot, since I think the concept is okay. Even if the double-flip isn't great, they're optically unusual points of interest if they're just held or (carefully!) tossed by the model.
